Out Of Contract

Small fee but with decent sell on clause maybe. Not sure what level he'd be looking at just now - maybe the kind of player some team in Italy or Belgium would take a punt on, either that or he'll be looking at lower end of Championship, or probably League 1 in England.

He'd probably be better signing an extension and knuckling down and catching the eye again next season.

Italy or Belgium eh? Next stop for him is cove.

Would absolutely keep him.

He’ll get a far better contract elsewhere though & Liverpool would want a fee we couldn’t afford anyway.

Qpr we’re interested in him in January, enquiring if Liverpool could cancel his loan and them take it over, he’ll get twice as much at QPR as he would with us anyway.

Young Connor needs sold if he’s got zero intention of re-signing, which it looks like he doesn’t.

He’ll only have 12 months contract left

It’ll help with the rebuild & the double figure number of players we’ll need

By binning I was meaning paying off of which the candidates would be the absolute duds; Lewis, Stewart, Morris, Richardson and Roberts. Given we are so short of bodies we'll likely humour the majority of them until at least August.

If we can get Barron away for anything north of £600k its a deal and goes towards funding a couple of transfer fees on new players. If we can get a million quid then someone at the club should be pocketing some of it as a reward

You need to get out more Tord, you're overthinking things again.

Just let Barron rot in the reserves for the last year of his contract. We are guaranteed compensation regardless and I doubt clubs are itching to pay much more than that for him.

Probably worth it as a lesson to fellow Aberdeen youngsters coming through

Not getting anywhere near £600k for Barron this summer. Should get circa £400k training compensation the following summer.

On the other side of the coin, with Clarkson away at the end of the season, if Robson gets the management gig full time, maybe, just maybe, he can get Barron back on track both in his head and on the field. Might not be the lost cause we think he is.

Regardless, he’s half the player Clarkson is.

Hopefully that’s what transpires

No chance can we pay off 5 players and neither should we imo.

For one thing the squad is tiny and if we pay them all off we'll be back to the maximum number of loan players again- no thanks.

Maybe 1 or 2 with no future might be paid off, the others are needed even if only as squad depth. Bring in better players and let them be the back ups for now.

It's also possible that one or two of them might do better with a proper manager- it's clear as day now that Goodwin was a complete fraud.

Aye I can’t see anyone bidding £600k for Barron.

we all know there were times mckenna & Ferguson were accused of being uninterested but never to the extent they couldn’t even get a game for us. How are you going to make it in England if you can’t get in the team for a dons side who aren’t even having a remotely good season

We wont be paying anyone off soon but there has to be a big question whether Stewart rocks up for pre season.

He's heading straight for a mutual consenting the night before pre season starts

I expect a deal along the lines of Ramirez, he’ll fucks off but Aberdeen won’t be out of pocket

Same agent as Consi I think I remember being said before?

Aye the very same, think Goodwin took a hump with the agent over the Consi contract situation (can't blame him)

End of the day Barron's agent has been putting stupid thoughts into his head and has meant his value is nowhere near what is was at the start of the season

He’ll get a good deal still from someone… as mentioned, his agent must have some concrete interest from clubs willing to take him on a training compo.

Thing is, if he’d signed the contract, got his head down and played for us, he’d have got a decent move next year anyway - plenty of suitors for talented young British born players. Would have been a winning situation all round… the current predicament is pretty sad…

Not sure clubs will be queueing up to pay a fee for him after 18 months in the wilderness, regardless what's previously been agreed with his snake of an agent

Agents are poison ,earning large sums of money for themselves and often negotiating deals for particularly young players which is often not in the players best interests. Wouldn’t allow players to have an agent at such a young age as Barron is.
