The Boofon
Got flashed by the last one before you come into Dundee yesterday. Definitely dodgy as I was on cruise control the same speed the whole journey and never got flashed previously. What's the crack with avoiding these points and fine when it comes in? Ignore the letter? Appeal? Any other tips? Link to comment
ChutneyLove
Ask WartyTime, he's been through it before. Though he disappeared from the site for a whiley, was probably doing 28 days to cover the fine and costs. Link to comment

Ignore the letter? Appeal? Any other tips? Write them pointing out you're a national hero, and if they insist upon this course of threatening and intimidatory action you'll go to the papers, including, but not limited to, the Press and Journal, the Evening Express (which is essentially just the Press and Journal), and the Aberdeen voice. Also, include a signed head shot of yourself and a fiver. If they don't send them back I'm pretty sure you can argue in court that they were intended as settlement and failure to return them is tacit agreement to said settlement. Link to comment

Poodler
I've been flashed twice in the last 4 months and both times no speeding ticket has ever appeared, so hopefully its got no film in it, like the others that got me. In the millertime thread they spoke about drawing the process out by replying to appeal late into the 28 days etc. You could just blame it on the wife though and make her take the points. Loads of folk I Ken have been "flashed" on that stretch of road between Dundee and the turn off for Brechin and don't hear anything about it again. Link to comment
Jings Crivvens
I think the speed camera has to flash twice for it to be an issued ticket. 1 flash is just a warning to watch your speed Link to comment

Loads of folk I Ken have been "flashed" on that stretch of road between Dundee and the turn off for Brechin and don't hear anything about it again. Hope so. As mentioned earlier it's a false reading as the same speed was selected for the whole stretch of road. It was a double flash though so I'll expect the worst and if nothing comes of it then great stuff. Was on a passport/visa run for going away today as well then I get an email at lunchtime today to say it won't be for another few days now. Bastards. Link to comment

BrianFaePerth
What is the speed limit on the A90, Laurencekirk excepted? Abody slows down to 65 past the cameras, so muggins does here too being the out-of-towner. Isn't it 70? Link to comment

Nelly
I usually set the cruise to 79mph too. Ex-traffic cop told me their unwritten rule is anything below 10%+3 is fine, so on the A90 anything under 80 should be safe. Said at the time the cameras are set from 80 to 85 mph but it was about 10 years ago he told me this. Link to comment
