Transfers News For The Inferior Teams

Recommended Posts

Our resident Jambo saying Hearts didn't cheat in the Romanov era. What a deluded fuckwit.

"we overshot"

Hmm , getting over £25 million of debt signing players you couldn't afford and cheating your way to a couple of Scottish Cups (without which you have 1 trophy in 60 years.. tinpot) was overshooting?

One of the greatest days in your clubs history involves a team you couldn't afford (cheating) beating Gretna. How fucking pathetic is that.

What Rangers did was not just break football rules, but also tax.

What Hearts did was within all football and legal rules. But we overshot.

We went into administration which is when the football authorities punished us. Our fans saved the club and still contribute millions.

Rangers died. And the biggest fan base in the UK, according to them, sat and watched it happen.

Stop equating us with their story.

You still vastly spent beyond your means in order to try and get a few seasons of glory and ended up with only 1 second place finish, 2 Scottish Cups, 1 administration and 2 relegations to show for it. Was it worth it?

Tbh he might argue that it was worth it to pick up a couple of Scottish cups.

You are conflating two different positions

1. A club is over ambitious and spends beyond its means, then struggles to recover its debt

2. A club knowingly breaks rules, and tax legalities, to gain an unfair advantage over others

Barcelona are over a billion in debt. Most clubs even at the top end and Champions League levels have debts that look hard to pay back.

Same true all the way down the levels of even the much lauded English set up. I mentioned before, case in point, Sheff Wed out muscling us for Paterson. Is that fair? They're 124m in debt and losing 500k A WEEK.

So clubs mostly have debts. As said above Aberdeen had debts out with your operational ability to repay. Til they were wiped for you.

So what's your point? We broke no rules. See 1 and 2 above.

Now dry your eyes and try to make a Scottish Cup final for once in recent decades.

It might have been at the time, can't see how the ups and downs of the last 10 years would have made those 2 Scottish Cups worth it in the long run though.

I'd love us to win the Scottish Cup again but not if its tainted by us spending outwith our means for a few years and then suffering administration and regular relegations because of it.

Not sure what they put in the water down south but you guys sound like your hun big brothers who deny their club died.

You didn’t overspend. You didn’t even have the money to spend. You promised to pay banks, players and clubs money you didn’t have. You basically committed fraud.

The mind is a funny thing though.

In hindsight they possibly remember and value the cup wins more than they remember the frustration of the bad times.

In other sports don't they get titles and cups removed for cheating?

Agreed Ernie. But in the eyes of the SFA, they only cheated themselves financially and got relegated because of it. Mind you, any honest  Hearts fan at that time of administration would have given up that Scottish cup to remain solvent and not go through the turmoil of possibly going out of business.

Exactly. Romanov still being pursued for alleged fraud and money laundering by interpol and is hiding in Russia.Comparing that to oor Stewartie Milne  in any way is kinda funny really...

It's called investment, now can you link to a story where Aberdeen failed to pay their creditors?

What's your point? Yes we had debt but we were managing it then a local benefactor and supporter offered to invest in the club in order to clear the debt. I'm not sure you can really compare that to your Romanov years where you were clearly building up debts you'd never be able to afford to pay back in order to chase Mad Vlads Champions League dream.

The difference is that we were able to service the debt and it wasn't called in by the bank and other creditors.

You are correct we had a lovely wee man and wife clear off the debt - not dissimilar to Budge and her cronies putting money into a bankrupt club.

As I said at the start the difference is we didn't allow the situation to get anywhere near as bad as your club did.

Exactly - we were hamstrung for years by the debt Milne ran up.  Could have taken the easy route out by stiffing our creditors for however many pence in the pound hoors Drawers FC coughed up to theirs but thankfully our club has a abit more dignity.

Although I'm surprised Hearts didn't just auction off their medal for winning WW1, would surely be worth a few bob.

Aberdeen debts were to the bank and all under some degree of control (just) and underwritten by the owners - then all paid off in time. What more can you expect?

Hearts debts were out of control and they could never afford them in the first place - they ultimately defaulted on them - cheating.

But you know this.
