The Cockney Don
Well i reckon we should rest a few for next thursday. Link to comment
Bamber
Its very difficult to see who we can rest really - Quinn or Taylor in defence, I can see two out of robson flood and smith starting, up front will be whoever isn't starting on Thursday. Id also only start either Hayes or McGinn and give them 55 mins and 35 mins Possible Ward Logan Quinn Considine Shinnie Robson Jack Flood Pawlett Rooney hayes Subs will then be Taylor for Shinne or logan (83mins) , McGinn for Hayes (55 mins), Mclean for Pawlett(75 mins) Link to comment
TynesideDon
Never heard of any team resting players for their first league game of the season. Got to go full strength. We've got a slim chance of winning the league but nee chance of the UEFA Cup. 6 Link to comment

We've got a slim chance of winning the league but nee chance of the UEFA Cup. getting to the Play offs will be worth close on £350,000 minimum - probably closer to £500,000 with TV and corporate. We would then have a good chance of getting to the group stages - it is after all a 2 game knockout - getting to the group stages will give us more prize money than the SPFL Getting to the group stages would be an absolute game changer for Aberdeen, last season showed that losing the first game of the season didn't hurt us in the slightest, what hurt us was not being able to take points of celtic 9 Link to comment
Dynamo
I wouldn't rest anyone but I wouldn't be surprised if we swapped McLean and Pawlett and Rooney and Goodwillie. This will be a very hard game due to tonight and the travelling. I hope I'm wrong but we'll see either Robson or Flood starting. Pray to god not both. Link to comment
Poodler
We've had a great intense preseason though, canna argue with that Link to comment

Sheeptastic
I would agree with making some changes to freshen things up and allow some players to get a breather ahead of next Thursday. I'm not massively convinced by the argument that playing in the Europa is detrimental to the league. I think last season because of the manner we went out against Sociedad affected us on the opening day, and this season having to travel to Kazakhstan is obviously not ideal but as far as I'm concerned, playing competitive football is better than playing bounce games against local dross. We can get a result here but I would support managing the squad well. Perhaps something along the lines of: Ward Logan Taylor Quinn Shinnie/Consi Jack Robson Pawlett McLean McGinn Rooney Link to comment

newcastlered
I think there is definite correlation between Europa Thursdays and SPL Sunday performances. Especially first game of the season. Whilst it's an advantage we've had competitive match practice United have had all pre season to prepare for us, we'll have had one light Saturday training session. Not to mention they haven't travelled 10,000 miles in a couple of days. If I supported United would be embarrassed not to win this one. Link to comment
