For Fecks Sake
You're bullying. Stop bullying. While I don't agree that it's bullying I will stop it due to the fact that I genuinely don't take any pleasure from winding you up anymore due to your mental health state. 1 Link to comment
Shinniesta
Would the difference be that huge if you take into account the bonuses they'd get for runs to domestic cup Finals, Champions League Qualifiers, Champions League groups and the inevitable Europa League ties with Celtic? They wouldn't get that with the Southampton's of the EPL.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46358084 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/42130297 The above gives a good indication. Average salary of a Celtic player is around £850k pa. The average EPL salary is over £2.5m pa. Over a 5 year contract that is a difference of around £8m. I know the likes of McGregor, Tierney etc would be among Celtic's higher earners and are probably on £1m+ pa. But in general it's still a big difference. Players at the likes of Southampton and lower level EPL teams will I'd imagine have bonuses built into their contracts for staying in the league which would probably match or exceed bonuses Celtic players get for CL qualification, domestic cup success etc. I would also imagine the signing on fee when you join an EPL club is pretty hefty as well. Good solid facts there min cheers. On a related note the Southampton players look like they'll need to earn that staying in the league bonus this year. Link to comment

This link shows the (alleged) weekly wages of some of Southampton's squad for last season. Looks like Steven Davis will be taking s massive drop in wages to join his beloved huns because according to this he is on £60k per week. No wonder Southampton are so willing to let him leave now. Fraser Forster apparently on £70k per week. Not surprising that he left Celtic. Link to comment

Van Dijk is probably the best example. I'd imagine he was on around £15k to £20k per week at Celtic. Probably £50k to £70k at Southampton and now not far off £200k per week at Liverpool. Players like Dembele and Edouard realised that Celtic are a good launching pad for a possible EPL career because of the exposure they get, playing in CL and in front of big crowds under big pressure to win every single game. It's a great selling point that Celtic have to offer to very talented young foreign players. But that's all Celtic are to them a short term launching pad to move onto a far bigger stage and the riches that come with it. Link to comment

Shinniesta
Sean Clare actually scores a goal! Hearts fans better be prepared for an incoming £25m bid from Spurs tomorrow as they need an EPL quality player to replace the injured Harry Kane. I'm sure Spurs will eventually get their man. fine-n-dandy
If st Johnstone make top six this season. As it stands 20% of theirs & Celtics remaining domestic games are against each other. Potentially more if they replay in cup & Celtic go out (reducing their number of remaining games) welcome to Scottish football where the same teams place each other every few weeks Link to comment
TheRock
Was it February or March a couple years ago when every game Celtic and Dundee United played was again each other? Am I remembering that right? Think they played 4 or 5 games, something like that. The more I think about it, the less plausible it sounds. Link to comment

That can't be good. Link to comment
