Inferior Clubs Games In Spfl

Recommended Posts

A local ref Craig Fordyce inspected Dens at 9.15am and delayed decision. Sky saying match ref Don Robertson on way now for 10.15am check. State of that pitch with normal rain is a joke with amateur pitches having better drainage

This has been an issue with Dens park for years and is an utter embarrassment to the league, it is bad enough we have pathetic plastic pitches but having an amateur level grass one is worse

Injuries, emotionally drained and a run-in that’s now slightly easier now they’re out of europe.

And the games called off with four hours to go.

Thats a break for them. Β Not suggesting anything nefarious, just…a break one would imagine.

Agree.

Privately, the Huns will be delighted.Β

We can put a man on the moon, but Dundee can’t get a game on in mid March after a days rain.

Why don’t they cover their pitch when they know it’s to piss down?

Β

Dundee are a fucking disgrace. It's about time they were getting fined for this.

Agree.

As much as it’s hilarious the Huns are inconvenienced & en route, it’s fucking ridiculous it wasn’t put off at say 9am.

They should be fined heavily, but the SPFL will do fuck all.

i never understand why clubs don’t have large tarpaulin to cover a pitch in extreme rain for a day.Β
Cheap, easy.Β
No excuse.Β

They should at least cover the most at risk areas where there's very little grass.Β  At Dens that's the 2 18 yard boxes and the area in front of the dugoutΒ

Nevertheless I've just seen the tv footage and that game should be on.Β  A couple of small patches where the ball doesn't bounce properly shouldn't mean the game should be off.Β  Bunch of pussies these days.Β

Completely agree. They are getting a competitive advantage by spending fuck all on the pitch/groundstaff so spending more on the team versus other teams who have spent money to fix their pitch e.g. Motherwell and so have less to spend on players. Some hefty fines might get Dundee to take some action and spend money on proper drainage.

Darvel's pitch is a thing of beauty, Spartan's is very good, many lower-tier clubs in Scotland and England have amazing pitches and drainage systems. Dundee have been taking the piss for years with that pitch. As Clement said, next season there could be a lot more UEFA fixtures in Scotland and we can't have this shit going on. SPFL really need to the get the season schedule sorted out.Β

Saw some pictures of the state of the pitch on Twitter. Β Unacceptable for a full time club to let their pitch get into that state… there were large patches which looked like they were just mud… with no grass. Embarrassing.

So games off.Β  And the Huns arent happy.Β  Plu ca change.

Interesting twist - Dundee say they could have got it on with up to an hour's delay but apparently Sky had say otherwise.Β  Tony Doc saying they were all for delayed kick off.

They love claiming they could get games on with more time as used same script against us. Pitch looks more like a golf course with bunkers with amount of sand they'd usedΒ

I know. A few areas where the ball doesn't bounce means fuck all or it never used to. Along with the VAR sagas, these postponed matches makes the Scottish Premiership look diddy-esque. Never happens in English Premier, I actually don't recall any Championship games being postponed this season.Β

One of the most important aspects of football administration is that... the games go ahead.

"It iznae oor fault... the RAIN came on last night, min, pitch is soakin', min, even the sand we got fae B&Q didnae work, min. Da blame us, min."

Fuck off.

If that’s true it’s a fuckin disgrace. Β  The inconvenience to the tv companies should play no part at all in any decision about the game being on or off.
