Scotlands Useless Referees

Recommended Posts

Obviously Gollum takes the prize for the most useless & probably also the most corrupt since Dallas retired but wonder how long it will be until Andrew Dallas takes the title his father once held so dearly?

Dallas will be going some to oust Gollum as Scottish footballs most hated (currently serving) referee though. Hated at least by all except Celtic.

Let's see which of our long list of wonderful (elite according to FIFA) referees gets the most mentions on this thread for being fkn useless.

Most clubs think Gollum is actually biased against them but I only think this when he officiates our games V Celtic. Rest of the time I fully believe he is just completely useless at his job. But was it him that was ref in the farce against Hamilton also last season? Cannot remember which one that was.

There's not a single referee in Scotland that can do their job to a satisfactory standard.

How many goals did we have chalked off last because of the officials sheer inability to keep pace with the game? The only team that will do well out of their fuckwittery is Celtic, because the referee's in this country are petrified of the backlash from the tims for awarding anything against them. The chart last season with all the penalties awarded said it all.

Officiating requires some serious investment in Scotland if it is to improve. Take some money out of the prize and invest it in proper training for the officials. Also perhaps ensure they are in reasonable physical condition instead of having fat bastards slogging down the length of the pitch that are unable to see anything because they are too busy breathing out of their arseholes and pishing sweat.

It's fixable, but the SFA don't see a problem and so fuck all will get done.

I can see both sides of this argument actually - I can see why he would give it and I can see why he wouldn't give it but I see more why it would be given

Also I think we need to think here what the spirit of the law is - a lot is made of the fact that it is denying a goal scoring opportunity its not a last man tackle nor is it a professional foul but what was the spirit of this rule? |The spirit of the rule was to stop players playing the player instead of the ball to prevent them scoring

Gordon clearly was after making sure he took the player out as far out as possible so that when he did get sent off there was a chance it could be saved it a cynical and premeditated and he knew the likely outcome

Compare and contrast to Ward staying in his box and blocking the Kairat player early in the first half

Compare and contrast to Samarras Vs Langfield in 2013 - samaras was a lot closer in and going a lot further to the side

I can see why it wasn't given I can see why it should be, I think when you look at the spirit of the law and the intent of Gordon it was a red all day long

Just watching the Partick - Killie highlights.

Particks red card (no arguments at all) was a red card for denying a clear goal scoring chance. Even though their would still have been a keeper to beat. Even Partick player had no arguments.

Again highlights just how bad Gollums call was on Craig Gordon in their opening game. Infringement happened in exactly the same area of the park & there would have been nobody in goal to beat. Gollum sees it's a clear foul & calls it right but refuses to give the red card.

Any other team in the league & their keeper would have been off.

Haven't had a good look at it but was DG's foul the correct call when he got his goal chopped off?

Watched highlights again and really no complaint from DG so basically admitting guilt but if you look at Collum he more or less has blown and has his hands up pointing for a free kick within micro-seconds so was he going to blow regardless, probably

Heard again today that he is away on Chumps League business, how blind are these UEFA folk ?

Yeah seeing it again from behind goal angle & it does look like DG gave him a wee cheeky push :giggle:so probably the right call from Gollum.

Fuck how he & his amigos got that gig though.
