Rhodes is Scottish. Surely born and brought up while his old boy was playing for Saints versus the Dandies including the first match after Dick Donald died.

Rhodes was born in Oldham, Greater Manchester,[1] while his father, English footballer Andy Rhodes was playing for Oldham Athletic. Rhodes senior moved to Scotland later that year when he joined Dunfermline Athletic and stayed in Scotland until 1998 also playing for St Johnstone and Airdrieonians. There were breaks in the time Andy Rhodes spent playing in Scotland when he had loan spells at Bolton Wanderers and Scarborough. Thus Jordan Rhodes spent much of his childhood living and being schooled in Scotland.

Qualifies through the education rule.

Bit harsh on Maloney I've always thought.

He's Aberdonian min.

ah but that doesn't help harcus in enforcing his point does it?

@, why is it an issue for you?

Born and lived in Malaysia till he was 5, according to wiki.

Not really an issue as such VDA, I just find the eligibility rules for international football quite interesting, sad as that sounds.

Make it simple. If you are born in the country then you can play. None of this eligibility cause your granny was born there. I would go as far a eligibility for players whose parents (both) were born in that country. For example you can hardly say a child isn't Bosnian because both parents had to flee a warzone.

We need players who want to play for Scotland in first instance, rather than taking players who chose to play for Scotland because they knew that they would never get a game for their home country.
