fatjim
Could it maybe be that the 'Jeremy Kyle crew' perhaps feel failed by our political system and faced with a choice of change or the status quo voted for change. Easier to just sneer at folk though. If they felt failed then surely that failure is westminister's failure not the EU. Unless rich people made them blame the EU and with it the migration of foreigners to these shores. Simply feeling failed isn't a justification for supporting Brexit. If anything that feeling could get worse when they don't have the same worker's rights nor human rights should Westminster choose to change that. Link to comment

The very people they feel failed by and mistrust all told them one thing and they chose to go against that. No surprise really. Link to comment
manboobs109
It will get worse Also, enjoy your chlorinated chicken, Genetically modified Cows and remortgaging your hoose to pay your hospital bills (Unless Corbz and the lads take control)I know you're only joking but the chicken thing is a mystery to me. Why will everyone be force fed chlorinated chicken if we leave the EU? Link to comment

If anything that feeling could get worse when they don't have the same worker's rights nor human rights should Westminster choose to change that.People's opposition to EU membership has been consistent for many years. The original project was for a free trade bloc rather than a sovereign entity whose laws we are subject to, people understandably don't think it's a good thing. Pro EU types don't care or positively want greater unification as is the EU project goal, an EU army etc. Others prefer sovereign nation states who trade with each other on mutually beneficial terms. I've always been fond of the EU and wasn't fussed with the spike in immigration. However I tend to think the future will revert to nation states working together in Europe and I think this will be a good thing for stability in the region The mass increase in immigration during Blair years was also not particularly popular and changed society significantly, particular impact on workers on lower paid jobs and manual positions. It's not racist to want to control immigration, it's normal. Japan only had 18 immigrants last year are all Japanese racist? Also the idea that we rely on EU for workers rights is daft, Westminster is more accountable to the people than lawmakers in Brussels. 1 Link to comment
Fridge
Brexit or Scottish Independence will make absolutely fuck all difference to anyone’s life. Why all this money has been spent is beyond belief. It’s nae like suddenly Sturgeon is going to be firing out loads of cash to working class families or because we don’t have European workers in the country we’ll be better off and taxes will go down. Complete waste of everyone’s time and money, we’re Scottish, British and European. Who actually gives a fuck. We’re not exactly appeased. 1 Link to comment

Jocky Balboa
I wonder if Sturgeon has the self-awareness to see the dangerous precedent she is setting by constantly interfering in England and Wales democratic wishes and trying to overturn their result... (Despite mainstream media horse shit to the contrary, they still appear to favour Leave, albeit very narrowly - the EU elections saw over 44% of votes go to Leave parties (Tories/Brexit/UKIP) versus 40% for Remain parties. The Brecon by-election, despite a LibDem pact with Remain parties, also saw more votes go to Leave parties) What will happen if Scotland votes YES in Indyref2, but rUK spends 3yrs stamping its feet and whinging, refusing to accept the result? If I didn't know better, I'd say she's still smarting from the arse kicking losses of 2017 (Scotland surely isn't as Europhile as made out, or we'd have banged down the door to independence by now?) and is trying to wiggle out of another referendum, then scrape through the 2021 election as a minority government. Another five years in power with such pathetic opposition? I'm sure she and hubby would love that. 1 Link to comment
manboobs109
Once you leave the EU you will be raped by the US and have to follow their (much lesser) food standards rules. Talks are at quite an advanced stage with selling off the NHS to their private companies Leave the EU but now you have to dance to the US tune IdiotsBut surely an enterprising UK chicken farmer will sell non chlorinated chicken and we can munch that? Jocky Balboa
As a side note however, I still believe in independence, on the principle of self-determination. The Tories haven't won the popular vote in any national election on Scotland since 1959 (and that was a conservative vote from two parties combined and they still got less seats than Labour) but have been in power two-thirds of the time since. For two-thirds of my life - and my parents' lives - Scotland has had a government it never voted for. At least under independence, we could get rid of Sturgeon and co. We are, however, stuck with BoJo the Clown and any other inept choice England makes. Link to comment

manboobs109
Just like the EU’s food standards rules (which are stringent and don’t allow for any shit entering the food chain) he would have to follow the US’s rules and chlorinate it - he won’t mind though as it will be cheaper for him to keep his chickens (and chicken meat) in rat infested shitholes. Just disinfect the bastards Yummy Edit to add - the US farming lobby already have Bojo in their pockets (Corbz won’t allow it)They don't HAVE to chlorinate it in the US they just don't stop people from doing it. It doesn't mean we'll all have to munch it. Total red herring(loved Fist of Fun) Link to comment

When I was a chef in Aberdeen we had to 'chlorinate' the lettuce. You might have eaten it, soz. 2 Link to comment
manboobs109
You'll pay extra above what you already pay - just you wait and see. Parklife
Mobz is exaggerating obviously but there's an element of truth in what he's saying. We'll have to sign new trade deals with the US, on terms more favourable to the US than the one we have as part of the EU. Our marketplace will then be flooded with their cheap more poorly regulated food produce. Link to comment

Chicken is washed in chlorinated water in the states to kill bacteria, it's not a lower food safety standard. There is no good reason not to do it. 1 1 Link to comment
