dj_bollocks
I see one of the Dons Fans Facebook Pages suggesting that the Zombies have played each of the Top 6 teams twice at home already... ...and what with the remaining Old Firm game confirmed to be at Celtic Park, what are the chances that we have to go to Snake Mountain again before the end of the season. It'd be a fucking outrage if we did given we should be hosting them, Hearts and Hibs at Pittodrie. Anyone know when they're due out ? The top 6 might be sorted by the weekend I think... 1 Link to comment
Tord31
The top six might be sorted out this weekend aye. I would expect/predict that we get what we expect (Home - sevco, hearts, hibs. Away - celtic, killie) and that hearts end up going to Ibrox for a third time this season. 1 Link to comment
Donnet
Should be Hibs and Killie going back for a 3rd time due to them not being in the top 6 last season. Emphasis on should be. 1 Link to comment
Don Shula
Should be Hibs and Killie going back for a 3rd time due to them not being in the top 6 last season. Emphasis on should be. I think there's a couple of options for SPFL and stating the obvious whatever they choose it pisses off at least one club. As Donnet says they could do it on a "seeding basis" and choose Hibs (who would then most likely end up being the team with an 18/20 split of games) and Killie (who would have a 19/19 split but would have a 3/5 Celtic/sevco split so will whinge about lower income). All other top 6 games would be as expected. The alternative would be on some sort of "football fairness" basis and choose Hearts (who then get the 18/20 split) and Killie to visit sevco 3 times on the basis that Hearts/Killie have basically nothing to play for post split (a sort of precedent was set last year when the lowest seeded team - Partick - was the only one to get a 20/18 split in top 6). All other top 6 games would be as expected. Either way there is virtually no chance of us going to Ibrox a third team and we will get the 5 games H and A that we would expect. 1 Link to comment
GDON21
Our post split fixtures are virtually a stick on and if anything else was to happen would cause uproar. They have the seeding system in place for this specific reason. The way it is shaping up certainly looks favourable for us. Sevco get two teams at home that they have failed to beat this season at home on two occasions each. It's in our hands for second place and we should be aiming to beat hibs and hearts at home and killie away. Depending when we get Celtic post split its a game we could get something. Home to the huns is massive and is the real test post split of where we are placed. 1 Link to comment
pwtredz
sky will have a quiet word about the split, saying have the huns at pittodrie so we can show it on a sunday at 12p.m.cos we have a gentlemans agreement not too show ibrox or parkheid games at 12p.m. unless the glasgow cops say so 1 Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
It's fkn criminal. Anyone could have predicted at least 4 & probably 5 of the top six at the start of the season. 1 Link to comment
Andy_123
Us and Hibs will have to go to Ibrox again no doubt. Anything to help them get 2nd place. 1 Link to comment
Proud9
Think we got buggered by this a few years ago because we hadn't been top 6 in a while, so surely we'll be ok this time. 1 Link to comment
oilcat
As said above, the top 6, and by default the pre split fixtures are worked out in advance Hibs and Killie were not in the "projected" top six so it will (or should) be them going to Ibrox three times For fairness though the hun should play all five away from home :) 1 1 Link to comment
Andy_123
Had they played all top 6 teams away from home twice before the split in those 7 out of 10 seasons? 3 Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Apart from 7 seasons out of a recent 10 when rangers were disadvantaged by the split fixtures aye? Did you not lose this argument spectacularly previously? Something like deliberately using the 7 out of ten statistic to sound dramatic ignoring the fact that 5/10 is where everyone should be and the sixth was explained by the new club entering the top division for the first time? 3 Link to comment

If they put hearts to ibrox for third time every other fixture can be as expected so that solution is the minimum fuss. a wee meno off to anne budge declaring that theyll give hearts four home games against the gruesome twosome pre split next season will smoothe it over 1 Link to comment

Panda
Doubt Hearts will be too keen on missing out on a full house when they've a new stand to pay off Considering they had 7,000 Aberdeen fans and 14,000 Rangers fans paying in to Murrayfield earlier in the season, they can fuck off. In fact if any team is made to play extra games away from home, it should be them. Link to comment

Panda
Daft SPFL logic here: They are determined every year to avoid a last day showdown. They should have Aberdeen v Rangers on the final day with the hope that second is still to be decided so they get a really good game to market, but they'll do everything to avoid it as they won't dream of putting the lives of the people of Scotland at risk by having such a highly charged fixture with so much at stake. Then six days later there will be an even bigger fixture when the Rangers v Aberdeen Scottish Cup final at Hampden attracts 21,000 Dons fans down the road... ? They'll go with the safest fixtures on the final day. Aberdeen v Hibs, Kilmarnock v Celtic, and Rangers v Hearts. In fact I'll guess our fixtures right now. HeartsRangersCelticKilmarnock Hibs In that order. 1 Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Id agree but as I said above Id swap hertz and Huns. Is there not a possibility rasellick will be clinching it in that first tie hence why I thought theyd avoid it for the OF clash. Huns would be a bit disheartened getting pumped twice in a week. (In truth like you I can see them getting something in the cup game which wouldnt be the worst result for us). Link to comment
Tord31
the so called old firm is already announced as the first post split fixture. Aberdeen need at least 3 points out of 6 to bring it to that match at which point theyll likely win the league with a win Link to comment
SheepieBaaBaa
I predict a Celtic pre-split implosion, paving the way for Aberdeen to close the gap in the post split fixtures and lose the league on goal difference despite giving Hibs a 18-0 hammering on the 12th of May. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
apologies didn't know they'd preannounced it. We all knew it was pencilled in and the rest of us could go hang regardless of the possibility of a structured 2nd place run in. But then that's kind of the point.... Link to comment
Tord31
tbh maybe it isnt 100% announced but just known. maybe they can still move it given it looks like being the title win Link to comment

Panda
They've announced the OF game already? That's ludicrous, if soThey announced it last season in advance and didn't bother their arse to reveal the rest of the fixtures for about two weeks. Link to comment
Ten Caat
I dont believe celtic v sevco will be in the first round of fixtures.......more likely the 3rd or 4th round by which time the Dhims will have the league won. However I do think the SPFL will do everything in their power to help sevco get 2nd place. So I believe we will start with an away fixture.....and I believe it will be away to Celtic.....followed by a home match that will be difficult so it has to be Hibs........then away to Killie and finishing with 2 home games, firstly against Fartz and final game will be at home to sevco.
