It's a decent enough generic statement about wanting everyone getting behind the team.

 

But he's probably just shat himself realising we could quite easily end up in 4th place this season and isn't wanting the grief that will come with that.

 

Said after the Motherwell semi, at least he's finally acknowledged that the squad isn't good enough, albeit it's 6 months too late. Hopefully some better calibre players are targeted in summer.

Its a good statement, the right sentiment and I believe McInnes when he talks about what he wants and desires for the club (particularly since this of course aligns with whats good for his career) however intentions are fine but we have to judge on results and those failures he alludes have hit the fans much harder than I think he realises.

 

Rallying cry? - Aye ok, the fans will back the team of course.

 

Realistic expectations, based on what we've seen throughout this season - we'll be inconsistent at best or bow out meekly at worst.

Maybe I am. But it is a disaster to the extent that we find ourselves in a worse position than last year. A rebuild can take more than one season and it would have been a consolation if we were in a transition period with definite signs of improvement on which we could continue to build. But the only positive development this season is McKenna and maybe Lewis. Everything else is stagnation or deterioration. God knows what sort of team we will have in August.

The only reason this is being touted as 'rebuild job' is because he spent so much time wanking off In Florida speaking to Sunderland followed by weeks off flirting with the Huns. Then as the season rolls on we find ourselves with seven loan players ffs, knocked out two cups by Motherwell (Motherwell ffs) and now really fighting to stay within the European places.
