Ke1t
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44418791 Fair assessment? According to UEFA, the org that would be the arbiter of whose football sucks the most, Scottish football is mediocre, and fully 9 places above Iceland in terms of not sucking. I don't watch any Icelandic football, but I suspect that's accurate. 1 Link to comment
Dynamo
Unfortunately for Arnason it was him that sucked. Horrific last season. Link to comment
StandFree1982
What he's basically saying is that he's shite at dealing with high balls Semi Final :Fails to deal with high ball for first goal which led to the handball and the goal Fails to deal with the high ball after the McKenna miskick Fails to deal the the high ball for the third goalSeems to be a common theme. Mr John
What is it with players not being as good at a "favourite club" in their 2nd spell? Jess, Arni, Mcginn...there's probably more Dons who weren't up to scratch upon their return. Anderson's the exception perhaps. I can think of other examples at other clubs: even Thierry Henry managed one goal in four appearances when he made a few cameos for Arsenal at the end of his career, Fowler, Joe Cole and, err, Maradona! Sentiment outweighs practicality. Link to comment

He was tremendous in his second spell.Scored some stunning goals and basically carried the team.Probably only due to his efforts we avoided relegation. 5 Link to comment

Remember getting horsed at Rugby Park with the Dons fans chanting ' we only have one player'. Sad times but what a fucking player. Loved a performance against the Huns as well. 1 Link to comment
Mr John
I know, I threw him in as a "controversy grenade", due to the mood I'm in. Probably too much coffee. With hindsight, the team he re-entered was not as good as the one he departed. 1 Link to comment

tiktak
I can take those type of comments from a player coming to Scotland for the first time but if he didn't like it when he played in England or when he played with us previously then he can't go whining about it when he signs another contract up here and knows exactly what is coming. Don Fonte
If we'd offered him a new contract he'd have signed it I'm sure. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Returning players aren't as good in general really because we usually lose them when their stock is at it's highest, or almost there. They return more often than not (on the cheap) when they on the way down the hill. It's pretty obvious why returning players aren't as good, especially in a club like our case because we are a club operating on the cheap & scraping about looking for players based on hope rather than ambition. I was all for Arnason returning as a defender, based on his performances there with Iceland. He had a few great games for us & a few howlers but no real surprises other than why he was left on the bench so often when he was clearly a better option than AOC. Guess that was down to a combination of his attitude &/or fitness but not sad to see him go now. McInnes better find a decent CH as cover/competition for Devlin just in case he's not fit or doesn't cut it. Another season of Reynolds & AOC as options is frightening. 1 Link to comment

Guest the shepherd
1992 League Cup Final, wank stain!!!!Bit harsh min. He was excellent that day along with David Winnie. Just shows you how good a team we were back them when that cheating cunts had to rely on an own goal to beat us deep into extra time. Fuck rangers. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Talking shit he might be but he's spot on that too many times in he SPFL play direct clogger shite. We complain about it often enough, why pretend otherwise. And for that matter Aberdeen really played a lot more direct this season than previously as well so it's also fair comment on Dereks tactics this season. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
It's a fair assessment from Kari to be honest. The football isn't great. I think it just sounds a bit weird coming from him... he was shite last season and has Plymouth, Rotherham and some Cypriot team on his CV yet he's talking like he's played at Bayern Munich and Barca Link to comment

I think it just sounds a bit weird coming from him... he was shite last season and has Plymouth, Rotherham and some Cypriot team on his CV yet he's talking like he's played at Bayern Munich and BarcaI don't think he meant he was above it so much as at his age it's not what he wants to do. And maybe also an admission he's not really physically up to that style anymore. That seems fairly honest to me, no need for anyone to get upset about it. If he can find a gig with a bit less physical demands, less high balls to deal with and a bit more possession play then maybe he can play a few more years- good luck to him. 1 Link to comment
King Street Loon
Nae seeing much wrong with what he's said. What he is missing out and he's hardly likely to admit it himself, is his complete inability to cope with such a method of football. To often he was found wanting. 1 Link to comment
