No, they're not. They lost 5-0 at St Johnstone earlier today. Young Dons are away at Hibernian this evening. Link to comment

Medw1311
Potentially a bit of an odd situation coming up in the Aberdeenshire Cup... Aaron Reid (scored a hat-trick) and Adam Emslie played in the game on Wednesday against Keith which saw us progress to the semi-finals of the competition. Both players are currently on loan at Formartine. Our opponents in the semi-final will be Formartine or Inverurie Locos. Link to comment

I actually thought he'd have gone on loan during the Jan window so given the timing maybe it does buy into the rumour. Link to comment
Medw1311
First half hat-trick for Alfie Bavidge sees Scotland U19s lead Latvia 3-0 at the break. Also see that Blair MacKenzie has been recalled from his loan at Elgin. Young center back. 4 Link to comment
Don_Corleone
Bavidge's hat-trick from the other week. Clinical finish, then wins penalty and scores it in emphatic style, then steals the ball and scores the third. Good to see him thriving in mens football and banging in a hattrick in the Scotland U19s. Hopefully can push for a place in the team next season. Link to comment

Hopefully someone coming in from the free agent list. We cannot finish the season with one out of form keeper and another who appears not to be rated by the club. Link to comment

Find it strange that the club think it is good for the football club not to have a team in the reserve league but are happy to loan our young talent out to Highland or lower league teams. Would have made more sense to play in the reserve league and allow our own young players to develop alongside our experienced players who are not starting regularly in the first team. At present how can we keep the likes of Doohan, MacDonald etc match fit ? Reserve football would allow this to happen and would not allow the development of our loaned out players to be dependant on coaches from other clubs. Link to comment

Not sure what the big no6 for Edinburgh City was thinking of for the 3rd goal. Link to comment

RabidGiraffe
This is going to get a bit depressing if every year our most talented youngsters get poached at 15/16 and we never get to see them in the first team. Used to be it was the occasional one, now that's Pirie last year and Carroll this year. Brexit bonus because English clubs can't nick the best talent from the continent anymore? In this climate we'd never have seen Ramsay or McKenna play for the Dons, or got the fees we did. Link to comment

Yeah that's essentially it, clubs have seen the talent on their doorstep and with Brexit rules makes it easier to poach best scottish talent for nowhere near the price they should pay No doubt Boyd or Mackie will be the next youth prospect we'll lose for cheap Link to comment
Don_Corleone
How have we managed to keep Bavidge thus far? Surely he is in a similar category to guys like Pirie and Carroll? Has he just slipped through the net of these bigger clubs scouting, or has he had opportunities to go elsewhere and knocked them back? Link to comment

Guess they see it as more of a chance to test themselves at a higher level than the u18's up here Both Rory Wilson and Kerr Smith seem to have done well down at Villa, as well as Doak at Liverpool Link to comment
