Tord31
Injured: Reynolds, Tansey & McKenna Finish off the first fixtures with a nice thumping of Kilmarnock. A few selection headaches assuming McGinn and Wright both return and DM will be keen to start Wilson. Likely a new signing in the mix too which pushes Forrester into the stand for the first time. Lewis Logan Devlin Hoban Shinnie Gleeson Ferguson Mackay-Steven May Ross Wilson subs: Cerny, Ball, Considine, Wright, McGinn, Cosgrove, Forresterprediction: 2-0 GMS and Wilson Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
When did we put in a plastic pitch?Couldn't get the grass one cleaned after the last home game, so was more cost effective to replace it 1 Link to comment
BWG
I'd prefer to see us go with the same lineup as the St Mirren game. That was the best football we've played in ages. Link to comment

shut up meg
We cannot play Ball against Jones, the Killie boy would rip him a new arsehole. It needs to be Logan at right back. Link to comment
RUL
Apparently they were better team V Hearts but clearly struggled to break them down. Jones has been linked with a move to Celtic I read. I think it'll be a horrible 1-0 game for us. Link to comment
Donnet
There wasn't anything in the Killie v Hearts game until Collum put his mark on it with the red card. Neither team could string 3 passes together. Jones played up front with Boyd and was anonymous. He's more dangerous when played wide which they might do at Pittodrie if they play only 1 up top. 4-0 Aberdeen. Link to comment

Byrne Baby Byrne
Hopefully Shinnie is at left back. No chance. He's a far better midfielder than left back and this is the kind of game Considine (should) be fine in. That said, who is the midfielder creating a bit of spark out of Shinnie, Gleeson and Ferguson? Hopefully this is the mysterious area that McInnes is working on... Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Is that humour? Shinnie, as I have said countless times, doesn't have the technical ability to play centre mid He's the heart beat of the team. We are absolutely dreadful without him, see the Hibs and Celtic games he was suspended for last season. He's just got into the Scotland squad based on his midfield appearances, so its clearly not humour, no. McLeish should probably seek your technical advice before naming squads though 3 Link to comment

Byrne Baby Byrne
Come on His passion is brilliant yes, but he gifts possession too often by running into blind alleys He is not a midfielder and if we are looking to go up a level he should not be deployed there He brings too many other attributes to the team. Would take a hell of a player to replace him. Would be crackin to find one but I highly doubt we'd find one that we can afford Link to comment

Far more attack minded team with Shinnie bombing down the wing Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Sorry, have I missed something here. Who is replacing McKenna? Considine Shirley? I get that with Logan he now needs a spot for Hoban (who looks scarily like Fraser Fyvie incidentally). It’s also a function of the market we’re in whereby you need Gleeson to do the sitting/ circulating job and Ball/Hoban to do the adding height at set pieces thing where ideally the same player would do both. Is it a fitness thing with Gleeson or does he just not have the engine for 90 minutes? Link to comment
Mr John
Isn't Forrester supposed to be adding creativity to the middle though? Link to comment
Bamber
shinnie at the moment is needed at Left back and in the middle he is a loss from the middle when playing as left back as he gives us bite, energy and determination and reads the game wellno one else really does that not all midfielders need to be technically gifted. No one would ever call Scott brown technically gifted nor would they call ryan jack a technical player, both are bloody good midfielders because they have bite determination energy and read the game bloody well. when he is positioned at left back he is not really playing left back he is asked to wander and support the midfield, a lot of the problems at the moment are actually caused when he is up the field battling in midfield - quite a lot in the first half we were caught down our left because shinnie was in midfield and considine was turning slower than milk if McKenna hoban logan and devlin are all fit shinnie is in midfield Link to comment

BitWait
Shinnie should be playing left back , we have other players to step up in midfield. Somehow look more balanced with him at left back and he gives an attacking threat. Link to comment
