CoveSheep
As I said there will always be the odd anomaly in the list, but I still think we would give all of those bar Turkey a tight game. Turkey are far from the side they were. Link to comment
Patty
That was basically the USA's B team. 18-Kasey Keller (capt.); 6-Steve Cherundolo, 4-Carlos Bocanegra (12-Jimmy Conrad, 80), 3-Gregg Berhalter, 2-Jonathan Spector; 5-Brian Carroll, 25-Kerry Zavagnin (15-Ben Olsen, 46), 24-Eddie Gaven (23-Santino Quaranta, 46), 17-DaMarcus Beasley (19-Heath Pearce, 77); 16-Josh Wolff (11-Chris Rolfe, 58), 9-Brian ChingSubs not used: 1-Tim Howard, 13-Benny Feilhaber That team looks pretty strong to me. CoveSheep
Care to prove it? Only 50% of their players that took part in the game were used in the world cup, with 5 out of the 14 not even in the squad that went to Germany. Their best player by a mile, Landon Donavon, was not involved at all. Of their starting XI: Keller - played all 270 minutes of their campaign;Spector - not in world cup squad;Bocanegra - played 2 games out of 3 in world cup;Cherundolo - played in all 3 games, but didn't last the full time;Bernhalter - in world cup squad, didn't play at all;Gaven - not in world cup squad;Carroll - not in world cup squad;Zavagnin - not in world cup squad;Beasley - played in all 3 games, but didn't last the full time;Ching - in world cup squad, didn't play at allWolff - played 14 minutes at the world cup; From their subs: Conrad - played in 2 out of 3, but managed just over an hour football;Olsen -played 1 out of 3, less than 1 hour of football;Pearce - not in world cup squadRolfe Link to comment

DandyDons1903
The majority of that team are vaguely the same level as the players in the World Cup squad. It's like picking between Murty and S Caldwell for Scotland. Neither are particularly good. Same is the case with the USA. The two major players they were missing were Donovan and Dempsey. That said, Wolff and Ching are a decent strikeforce, and Donovan wouldn't have made a significant impact on the game I wouldn't have thought. Dempsey is a different matter, good player.
