Pre Season

Hedges really good composure on the ball, played mostly in the no10 role though there seemed a lot of interchanging with Ferguson first half.

Liked Gallagher as well, very direct, more of a Jonny Hayes than a GMS which’ll please many.

Leigh might take a minute to settle, lightning pace & very powerful but made a couple errors on & off the ball he’d be punished with against top opposition.

Good exercise, Cossie missed a sitter late 1st half, Hedges should’ve had one, Ferguson hit bar from free kick late second half but all in all decent preparation. Missing Bryson, Main, McLennan, McGinn, squad looks to have decent depth.

Really enjoyed that tonight.  Like the look of Hedges and Gallagher and 2-0 flattered Peterhead as there were some dreadful misses.

Good to see Ethan Ross and Dean Campbell get starts and both can be pleased with their performances.

I have absolutely no idea of our strongest XI after being at Balmoor tonight.

Stevie May's late shot that sailed way out of the stadium had to be seen to be believed.  It was greeted with lots of laughter in the East Stand.

Anyone brave enough to attempt a starting 11 for our first league game of the season.

I reckon this might not be too far away:

Cosgrove

McLennan Hedges> <Wilson

Ferguson Bryson

Leigh McKenna Considine Logan

Lewis

Gallagher, Main, Devlin, Taylor will all feature heavily also.  Looking at Gallagher in particular, early days obviously but his directness and work-rate kind of showed us what we've been missing since Hayes.  The squad has options for sure but the starting line-up last night was certainly with an eye how we'll shape up in the RoPS game; it didn't have an air of an experimental early pre-season game - ie if McLennan doesn't make it then a straight shoot-out between E Ross & Gallagher for LW
