shut up meg
McKenna has looked pretty solid in the international games, can't just blame the CB every time Scotland concede. Some of our games a like 90 minutes of shooty in. Ignore the usual suspect, he's a prick! 3 Link to comment
boboisared
Scotland played quite well. Certainly not an embarrassment. Belgium are one of the best teams in the world and you'll likely struggle to get good odds on them winning the actual tournament next year. Shows how low we've dropped when that was an encouraging performance though. 2 Link to comment

aberdeen1970
To be honest when I saw the teams I expected worse. Frustrating to lose goals in stoppage time at the end of both halves, a bit of tiredeness involved and switching off mentally. They're a good side, hardly lost a game in the last 2 years. Doubt anyone in the group will take anything from games there. Wee Maloney has landed on his feet there. 1 Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
He generally did yeah, but the one real fuck up cost a crucial goalBest defenders in the world make those types of 'fk ups' Especially your man love defender you worship as the perfect defender VVD. He's been caught out in exactly the same way this last season. Rate him or not Lukakau has scored 30 in 30 games for the world champions & current world number 1 ranked side.McKenna being the one you pick out to blame for the goal is just sad as fk & desperate from you. McKenna done as you would expect & didn't really make a mistake for the goal he was beaten by another big guy that had the advantage of being able to run at him & have him on the back foot. MT has no fkn clue what he's talking about & the only time he's played football is when the teachers/parents were around & the other kids were forced to let him join in. Like when Celtic let Wee Jay score a penalty MT is Wee Jay but bet you Wee Jay reads the game better. Genuinely. 1 1 Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Must be some damned player right enough to be scoring for both France AND Belgium. You been on the Stella tonight old chap?Lol WC finalists & No.1 ranked team. Oops or third place side whatever Still not sure they got to ranked No.1 but they are are least Link to comment
BonnieDon
I thought McKenna was really poor but I thought the Killie players were by far the worst. Definitely not capable of playing at international level. That should be an end to that experiment. Forrest and Burke (severely overhyped) were abysmal. McLean was dreadful too. I like Clarke as a manager but fear his stock will suffer for taking this job. The players he has available to choose from are simply not good enough. Link to comment

Did anyone except the idiotic Hibee boy expect a better result than 3-0 in reality? Even Cyprus game. They aren’t as bad as it would seem. Russia struggled with them at home also. We just have to accept the level we are at now. Depressing as that is. Taylor & McLean are getting plenty credit it seems. Don’t think some were as bad as you think Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
71% possession to our 29% I think we got away with it in reality. Team in such a mess as it is. Going to take a while until Clarke gets them better organised into his unattractive sloggers. Link to comment
DelMonte
The more I watch it the more I think its ridiculous McKenna is being blamed. That is a great piece of movement from Lukaku to get the space. Link to comment

Folk are bitching about us beating Cyprus (even though narrowly) & losing to Belgium lol Fair enough the Khazaks but we have to give Clarke a chance. Won’t be pretty I am sure but he will improve the side as a whole in time. Far too many dreamers of old & fantasists judging at moment. Not that I can remember much of the old to dramatically compare against the current lot. Link to comment
JakieBastard
This was why it was crucial that they got Clarke in before these games. The real 6 pointers come in the next couple of fixtures. By getting him in beforehand the SFA gave him a chance to work with the players and build up familiarity, safe in the knowledge that we were only realistically going to get 3 points from the two games. The games in September are a different kettle of fish and we really need to be beating Russia and ideally taking something off of Belgium if we want to qualify. If we don't win either of them then it's all over Link to comment
Dynamo
I'm not being a dick, genuinely asking Should a top centre half not match the clever run from the attacker? The attacker had a running start. Harder to jump as high from a standing start. I don't think there was much McKenna could do. If you watch Lukaku, he moves as if he's going to run towards the front post which McKenna mimics, then changes direction. Good centre forward play. The only thing you could say is McKenna could have been closer in the first place. The real issue is the number of Scotland players just watching Hazard retrieve the ball. FFS, thats basic shit. DelMonte
I'm not being a dick, genuinely asking Should a top centre half not match the clever run from the attacker? When Lukaku makes that move and its put up to the back post I think there's about 2 centre halves in the world who would deal with it. Watch the goal back and look how he goes into front post and then peels off. It's an absolute nightmare to defend hence why we should be looking at stopping that situation well before that. What's a top centre half? Don't think anyone is saying McKenna is. It's a case of him being worth a lot cause he has good potential. He's learning in these games as he goes along. Robertson made plenty mistakes at Hull but these players learn. Mckennas general play shows he can handle this level with some more experience. Link to comment
DelMonte
.to use your example though, robertson had moved to hull by the time he was 20, this is when he really kicked on McKenna is what, 22 now? If he is to develop to that next level he is in danger of missing the boat?Likely move this summer and get more games at a better level. From there just got to see where it goes. The potential is still there. He done well overall against a top team and provided our best moment with his run forward. Link to comment

The amount of Hearts fans complaining that Souttar should be ahead of McKenna. Souttar can pass the ball better, that's about it. Lukaku would have retired him last night. Link to comment
