Craig Bryson Signs

Let's hope he can install that same belief into all the other players. Hope he gets the captaincy he's just the type of character needed to lead the team. Should be a great influence on the younger players in the squad.

I think Ferguson already has that attitude too. Two real winners in the middle of the park. Brilliant.

Hence my earlier post. If we found a third complimentary player, Lewis Morgan was suggested but I don’t know enough about him to really comment*, then that appears a solid and hopefully creative midfield on paper, as solid as we’ve had for a while.

* comment other than if we’re really truly having a go then a player unable to play against our main rivals is stupid. To be fair it would wind up the hun some more.

Absolutely, and wasn’t discounting Deano for a second. Like what I’ve seen so far. But you can’t rely on a 17? Yo for a whole season. Use him for a season? Hell yes, if they’re good enough, they’re old enough etc etc but don’t go into the season completely reliant on them that’s the point, especially with Dereks infamous no subs till 92 minutes policy.

Deano is 18 and we were reliant on an 18 Year old in midfield last season

How do you work that out?

You assume Ferguson wasnt signed to be a first pick. Just because you assume it doesn't mean you are right

Ferguson came in, made a big impression in Pre season and took his chance when it came along, should be the same for Deano this pre season with Shinnie gone it is the ideal time for Deano to show he is up to it.He has had a similar exposure to first team football as Ferguson had this time last year so see no reason why Deano can't kick on and give us a Campbell, Ferguson and Bryson midfield 3 next season

Ferguson came straight into the first team squad. Its not like he went to the reserve squad. He was in the team right from the start. There was no luck about any of it.

We might be surprised that he had such an impact so quickly because we hadn't seen much of him at Hamilton but there's no doubt the club thought he was there to compete for a place right from the start.

Nae sure what the happy clappers are so butthurt over here. Ferguson was certainly not signed to start games over the likes of Gleeson. Just so happened that Gleeson was fucking mince, as was Forrester. Ferguson stepped up and credit to him. Seriously doubt that McInnes thought Ferguson would make as much appearances as he did last season, at the time of signing him.

Doesn't take away from the fact that he has been a good signing though and credit to the manager for that.

Exactly Ferguson would have probably played less games if the poor signings hadn't been so pish, he certainly could have been done with a rest especially when he was carrying an injury

Probably the fact that folk say we got lucky we had Ferguson to step in. It wasn't luck.

I think your being a bit pedantic tbh - the use "lucky" was pretty clearly just intended in a simple sense of the word.

I don't think it was suggested that we got "lucky" in the sense that Ferguson turned out to be a good player we signed by fluke or whatever you are reading into it.

The actual point being made was correct: we made two absolutely dismal signings for the midfield and thankfully the third one was so good he almost made up for the first two.

Exactly. Credit were credit is due, Derek McInnes played a blinder with the signing of Lewis Ferguson. He knew he had all the necessary attributes to become a first team regular, regardless of his age. After the game down at Burnley when he failed to control such an easy pass that may have led to us taking the lead in extra time, Forrester's limitations were well and truly exposed. As for Gleeson, there is still a player in there somewhere.

Neither are 99% of yours. Nearly every post is you moaning, crying or snapping about something/someone.

Take a break from the forum, relax a bit.

I would say a slightly higher percentage.

You also forgot about his positive posts though to counter his negative ones. You know the self praise ones & all that

Edit... he's an all rounder

I think I know the incident you’re speaking about. If I’m right then you’re being very harsh on Forrester. From memory , and I could be wrong, he’d just come on as sub in a fairly frantic game. He was running at pace into their box , and got on the end of a cross or pass that I’m nae convinced was meant for him. It came to him at an awkward sort of height and he was possibly in two minds whether to try to head it for goal or chest it down to control it. He went for the latter and ended up chesting it too far in front of himself and I think it either went out for a goal-kick or just straight to the keeper. I wouldn’t have put much money on any of our other players doing any better in the same scenario. It certainly wasn’t easy to do any better.
