No laws or rules were broken or even flexed. I think it was more a guarantee to buy. No way were we spending £800k on South American fullback just to give another club a 'first refusal'. It must have been set in stone. Link to comment

All this chat about scouting in Norway and 'being on our radar' was a smokescreen. Who gives a fuck? The wankfest over this cunt is embarrassing. He hasn’t got a game and earned plenty money here, not the clubs fault he hasn’t been with his family. If we have helped him get a move to Atlanta then he should be grateful. 1 Link to comment

Our partnership with Atlanta United seems to have made the deal a 'no-brainer' and, in this instance, they ensure no financial loss is incurred by Aberdeen by guaranteeing to buy Hernandez, if, for whatever reason, things do not work out at our club. 1 Link to comment

What pisses me off is that, if there's nothing illegal about the deal, why not just fucking TELL US what the deal was, rather than lying to us? It makes absolutely no fucking sense to lie about it, and it tells you exactly what they think of our collective intelligence that they figure we were too fucking thick to figure it out for ourselves. Okay, one or two were too thick and insisted it was a legit deal, but the majority of us were onto them pretty quickly. Just tell us the truth in future, we can handle it, we're all big boys... even though we might not act like it on here in particular. 1 1 Link to comment

A.The thing is with the foreign drafts in America is they are allowed so many, so why would they waste a space for a failed Venezuelan in the European context?, B.that would be fine if he got given the chance to see if he was any good or not,200 odd minutes certainly isn’t beneficial to see if your good or not regardless of training. C. Every time he played international football he seemed to be adequately equipped for it, he played a blinder against Argentina. it’s got to be a behind the scenes benchwarmer for Atlanta till they gave up a foreign roster place. As soon as he signed and we were told it was £800k it smelled fishy. That aligned with the Atlanta funding and scouting tie in talk. And if, and it's a big if, we were going to spend that kinda money surely it would be on someone at the top end of the pitch rather than a full back. Link to comment

The boy seems to have ability, whatever level that may be. If he can hold his own against other Copa America nations, he must have talent, just not suitable to way Derek McInnes likes to set up our team, especially after season 2016-17. Not the lad's fault, he's just a victim of a set of circumstances. It would be nice, however, for the club to be more transparent with shareholders and stakeholders alike to tell us all exactly why this deal never worked out. Link to comment

Atlanta could do worse than bring him in. Million quid should cover it... and he'd be a star for them. Everybody wins. Link to comment

Just tell us the truth in future, we can handle it, we're all big boys... even though we might not act like it on here in particular. Hard to believe anything that comes out of McInnes mouth now. All this guff about tracking him for a while, on our radar - then we compared our notes with Atlanta, before making the final decision. It might surprise McInnes and Co.... but there is a least a small section of our support who are not completely thick. There were quite a few of us who picked this up for exactly what it was. McInnes, generally only signs players who are British or Irish - and if not - he prefers his foreign signings to have experience in British football (I'm pretty sure he's been quoted along those lines). I can't remember the last player we signed direct from a foreign league, who doesn't have British experience? He also prefers big physical players, who can mix it up. So suddenly a Venezuelan midget from the Norwegian leagues rocks-up....very unusual for McInnes! Also, we're told we've paid 850k... so a record signing for McInnes! Obviously I'll be upset if we get into hot water with FIFA/UEFA regarding this deal... but ultimately I don't really mind if we hold on to a few Atlanta players, now and then. A feeder club set-up could have definite benefits for us. Not a big deal for me, as long as it's legal! It's just the lying that pisses me off! Why? I give the club fair chunk of my hard earned every year - I realise mistakes will be made, poor signings, etc, etc... but lying to the fans is lower than a snakes belly IMO. Just thinking back to McInnes cock-and-bull press conference now does enrage me! Would love to know how this was planned out... who decided how this would be presented to the fans? I wonder if McInnes was told 'this is the story, now go out there and talk..', or whether he did it off his own bat and saw it as an opportunity to steal a bit of glory/ flex his muscles? I also wonder what our scouting department made of McInnes comments? 2 Link to comment
