Except they didn't, most deaths were people near the end of life anyway. We're actually under the average death rate now.

Yip.  Who knew shoving Covid patients into care homes with the most vulnerable in society would result in a spike in deaths.

Why are the media and government so concerned with telling us to stay indoors, wear masks, use chemically laden hand sanitizers etc etc but barely if at all mention or encourage us to try and boost our immune systems?  Opening pubs and McDonalds before gyms ffs ?

Entire episode is a nonsense

It is very odd that deaths and people in ICU have fallen off a cliff regards numbers, that and the fact no one appears to be questioning why. The scare stories that the young would pass it to the old, just isn't happening or we'd still have deaths. Has it burnt itself out here.

Not that odd surely, given much of the country are working from home, Vulnerable people are shielding, people are wearing masks in enclosed spaces and keeping distance from others where possible.

Early in the year we were doing nothing to counter the spread. Now most are taking precautions to Avoid spreading. There's very little the ordinary person can't do now, as long as we take pretty basic precautions like putting a mask on. If we'd taken these earlier, we may even have avoided the heaviest restrictions totally. There's certainly evidence from the Far East that it was possible to do so, if the right decisions and guidance had been given by governments.

Wonder if the 1 person in ICU will make it or become a death, dragging on a bit, they should give us updates on the person. Maybe keeping them there to keep the shamdemic scary for the dweebs.

On another note it's noticeable on this thread how opinion is changing, even the die hard experts on how bad it is are softening. They've left hanz out to dry now he switched to their side.

You were moaning yesterday that no one was doing any of that because of 'British exceptionalism'

Is he fuck. There is an argument to say it's been mismanaged ( hardly surprising given the uniqueness of the situation ) but the conspiracy side of it is laughable and only appeals to the same kind of spastics that go on about 5G.

Och I'm not big on the conspiracy theories but I do think that they are prolonging it so as not to expose the fact they over reacted. The ABZ lock down was fucking disgraceful and totally unnecessary.

I'm gutted the thread got deleted. Everything we were saying right from the start will be proved true.

Only 300 deaths of under 65 folk, most of them had underlying conditions, everything we said was proved right. The economy has been decimated and hundreds of thousands have lost jobs and businesses for nothing.

When the enquiry into this happens heads will have to roll, the government decision to empty hospitals into care homes being key. The daily sturgeon show is just to keep the lie alive and take the heat off the real problem, surely people will see it.

Any word on when the limit on households meeting indoors will be increased? Can't see anything online about it

Meant to be away with 6 of us in October up the road for a few nights in a big fuck off lodge. The owner is asking for proof of address etc.

Current limit is obviously 3 different households. Load of shit.

As in most debates, rights and wrongs on both sides.

Early doors, the “R” factor was probably 4 or 5. February and March it was rampant. But, it generally did affect the vulnerable. I personally know two people who “died from Covid”. One in her 70’s who already had had a stroke, and one in his mid-50’s (my school pal) who was diabetic.

March, April and May took a heavy toll on the vulnerable whilst countries got to grip with Covid. But since then, we have all learned to be more cautious, we are slowly coming out of lockdown across the world (and clearly cases are rising), but now deaths and hospital admissions are on the wane.

Lockdown is unsustainable due to economic and social factors. We just have to get on with life, whilst being sensible.

Sturgeon doing daily talks is akin to Hitleresque propaganda.

Quite clearly a panic which with hindsight can be described as a huge overreaction to something that is only dangerous to a very small proportion of the population. They will never admit they have got it wrong so will continue with the charade and slowly ease restrictions thus justifying what they’ve done. Transparent as fuck to people with an IQ over 70.

Wrong.

You know anyone who's had it? Or is living with the after effect?

It's a cunt to be anxious about something you can't see but the penalty for failure is massive (demonstrably so).

You or I could do everything 'the right way' with this and still people around you or you could die or more likely be carrying the effects forever.

So wear the mask, wash the hands. I've no idea if that all works yet but basically fuck knows.

It's just odds give us the best chance.

No one's dying anymore though,  almost no one is needing hospital treatment,  that's the fuckin point.
