All relative. I asked a Polish guy I work with why a lot of Poles come here, basically said you get better value for money relative to your wage in most aspects of life, even if they are paying a decent chunk of rent they still make more here than back home.

A lot of the Polish community in Aberdeen live in Tory, where you can get relatively cheap rent because it is perceived as being undesirable.

The Romanian cleaner who works in the building said the same.

Double R, cunt!

Theres not much war in any of the African countries atm.

South Africa kicked off for a bit when the blacks started getting racist towards the whites again.

Somalia looks after its self.

Mozambique had a few whoopsies.

The occasional boko kidnapping of entire schools etc etc.

How's Chad these days min?

The last time I saw or heard anything of Chad was when Steve Irwin was removing saw-scaled vipers (aggressive wee bastards of snakes) and scorpions (quite docile and obedient creatures) from an indigenous village as part of one of his Crocodile Hunter documentaries.

Always been fascinated with this mysterious country.

My Chad knowledge stops at Chad Kroger of Nickleback fame.

Will just be another hot hectic place full of rebel forces and prostitutes speaking jungle French most likely.

Fair doos min.

Chad Jackson ("Hear the Drummer (Get Wicked)") is about the stretch of my knowledge of anything Chad.

It's just because you never of it in the news or as part or focus of many charities (Live Aid, Comic Relief et al.) trying to gain coin to help poor African communities. Their natives seem to get on with their lives with the minimum of fuss and that is very commendable.

What's the point though? Who doesn't know what the pyramids look like? I could understand it a couple of hundred years ago but now? Just go to Alton Towers.

much better to grow up in a tiny village, never leave the tiny village.  and then die in the same tiny village.

get local celebrity status that way
