He also appears to take criticism better than Robertson. Who I've always found a total and utter fud. Edit: Also faster over 10 yards. Which is why you posted this last night in the first place. Because as usual, you have an agenda. He's found a formation that can accommodate them both and they are both playing for the team. Robertson covers to let Tierney break and vice versa. They both had assists last night and were both involved in the lead up to one of the goals. Our left side looked good, albeit against fairly limited opposition. Let's see if it works in the Euros against the better teams. Link to comment

Israel beat Austria 4-2 at home, lost 3-1 in the return leg Yes & as I said, they proved they can beat Israel a lot easier than any of our previous half dozen or so efforts against them. Austria are a far better side than Scotland right now. Israel are on a par with us Link to comment

Robertson is good in Liverpool's system but doesn't look particularly great in the Scotland set up. Where as Tierney looks comfortable in two positions across two teams. Robertson was the best playing left back in the world last season and the one before, but he's shown himself up this season. Link to comment

So he has 2 great seasons followed by one where his form has dipped along with all of his team mates in that Liverpool team and you consider this "shown himself up". As I said, you're being agenda driven again. Link to comment
Andy_123
Robertson’s Liverpool form is irrelevant. He’s surrounded by some of the best players in the world there. It’s not the same playing for Scotland, and more often than not he plays poorly for us. Link to comment

The problem is that people want him to play as well as he does for Liverpool which, as you say, he can't because he plays with better players at Liverpool. He's more than good enough to stay in the team. Link to comment

Last week showed they were the far better organised, far better defensive & far better in possession. We just got lucky when we had to chase the game at home. They are easily the better side as the group finish will no doubt prove imo Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Some right shite on this thread. Strachan did a better job than Clarke? Did he fuck. We were screaming at Strachan for ages to change the team before he finally did. He also said Scottish players were shite because of their genetics. Not exactly inspiring. He stuck with the same arrogant losers for ages, Clarke looks to have a better spirit in the squad already. Plus, Clarke seems to actually pick the players in form most of the time regardless of who they play for. There's not too many in that squad that you'd argue shouldn't be there. And he's not afraid to pick players from the provincial Scottish teams. He's his own man with no agendas. Aye he's a dour cunt but tactically he's good and he's trying to get as many proper footballers on the pitch as he can knowing fine well if it backfires he's going to get crucified. Doesn't pander to the Huns or Celtic either. Both Christie and McGregor have been left out of the starting 11 recently. 1 1 Link to comment

Adams is a good pick up and he will find a solution to the Robertson Tierney dilemma... it's a good one to have. We can get second in this group. Link to comment
