Not wanting an extension built.

Depends how long the fence is, how badly damaged the wall is, and how many square metres of turf you need laid?  That £7k quote could be an absolute bargain,  or a total rip off? We've no way of knowing. I can't really form an opinion until I have more information.

Mate of mine just had to pay double what I did for my shed a year ago. Timber price apparently. Could be affecting your fence and all.
