Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Say what you want about Cormack, and hes deserving of some criticism, at least he ensures we get top dollar for our players.

Imagine Milne was still around we would have probably jumped at the first offers and taken in around £5m total for Cosgrove, McKenna, Ramsay and Ferguson. Not the reported £12.5m exc add ons providing Ferguson moves to Bologna for that price.

How much has Cormack spent sacking 2 managers and getting in Goodwin?

Interesting to hear we are in regular contact with three players we are targeting.

I'd assume these are Ronan, McGrath, and someone who hasn't been mentioned yet (striker or winger?)

Alternatively Ronan and McGrath are red herrings and we're actually looking elsewhere

Whoever it is we're talking to, they are under contract so either we are paying transfer fees or they will be a loan

I'm also guessing from the interview that the three in question are players who won't need visas

If we are talking to players, under contract, we’ve presumably already agreed transfer fees with their clubs?

Certainly nowhere near as much as Milne did punting the succession of clowns he appointed over the years. Running up a huge debt in the process which hamstrung us for years.

Lets not even discuss the money wasted on studies while our spiritual home was left to rot. Or blocking the change to the voting structure, or the needing a strong rangers guff

Correct

Also Mcinnes was almost out of contract and going anyway. Not a huge payoff

Interesting we are in negotiation with under contract players, loan moves or fees agreed with clubs I wonder

Canny be fucked wi loan signings, hopefully players under contract but not in plans of manager etc, that would suggest McGrath & Ronan maybe. As for the other 2, maybe foreign.

I'm pretty sure I read that we have three / four signings close to completion with another two guys going through the visa process along with Ramidani and Miovski? So Ronan, McGrath and another 2 foreigners?

Edit:

I probably read it wrong.

"We’ve got a couple of boys that have been going through the visa application process with Ramadani and Miovski."

If Ramadani has been brought in as Ferguson's replacement then we need to be looking at pushing the boat out for a proper quality "10". Goodwin really talking up Ramadani so hopefully he can prove to be a quality addition. Guess Miovski will be our penalty taker when he arrives.

McGrath if he comes in. He’s good at pens. Not convinced he’s better than average at anything else though

McInnes and Docherty were in the last 6 months of their deals were they not? If so, Not much would have been paid up

Glass on a rolling deal. Last few months of contract paid up. He'll have paid more getting rid of JET, Brown and Gallagher

Pretty much every player was left to run their contract down which led to good players leaving for no fee. Now any good talent goes for a fee. That change in structure is massive.

It was an ok theory to get the 7 seasons ensuring we established ourselves in top 3-4 and in europe every season but we needed to have a plan to transition out of that model and that clearly wasnt there.

Getting £1M for McGinn, Hayes, Shinnie, McLean and Jack was criminal.

£700k for Anderson springs to mind.

Who did we sell for decent money while the tcheuchter hun fuck was in charge?

Where are you getting the £700K from ?....£1m was the figure widely reported at the time , which was a decent enough fee for him I reckon.

Anderson was probably the only player we sold for decent money in that era....largely because we had hardly any players that other clubs would offer to pay a fee for.  And the good players we did have were happy to run down their contracts.

Aye but McInnes had said he was planning to leave last summer anyway. So if he was planning on leaving we wouldn't have been paying him his final year.

That deal only got done after we tried to sack him a month earlier.

He agreed to leave at the end of the season and presumably a pay off.

Things continued to go down hill and we pushed the button sooner to save europe, and try to bounce 3rd place.

anyways... so when he says he was leaving in the summer anyway its a bit of a porky
