Zeus
That no.19 that has has come in for the USA is one if the worst players I've ever seen. Was the same the other night vs Iran. Shocking. Link to comment
Guest Grays Babylon 1875
US and A is like watching Hibs. Dominate the game but offer nada zilch nothing up front. Should stick to being Mexican and drinking oil. Link to comment
Ke1t
Ah well, World Cup's over. Nae Germans, nae Yanks. Up to one of the Third Worlders to win it. Link to comment

Ke1t
Alexei Lalas the only commentator speaking sense post match. Dutch exposed the US's limitations, which will happen in the last 16. All the possession in the world doesnt put the fucking ball in the net. On the positive side, the exposure to the WC will encourage more kids to play fitba rather than one of the shite minority sports like Handegg or softball. Last 16's nothing to be ashamed of, though. I thought a lot of the kids over there already play "soccer" these days ? It's over here that they seem to play much less. Link to comment

A lot more than Scottish kids anyway. You can lead a horse to water etc. 1 Link to comment
Ten Caat
Well in a country where "soccer" is a massive minority sport in comparison to Yank football and baseball, last 16 ( and this is the 6th time USA have reached the latter stages, including finishing 3rd at the very first one and the quarter finals in 2002)........it's a history that Scotland, where it's by far our biggest sport would love to have. And the standard of sides they need to beat to qualify is pretty shit compared to Europe. Hardly surprising they do better than us. Link to comment

The standard of sides they face when they get there is the same as what we have faced when we've been there though. As I said, this was the 6th time they've made the latter stages. Something we have never managed. Link to comment

If you were a top athlete going to college you're more likely to get a scholarship, and a lucrative career, playing an easier sport like American Football or Baseball. So great players are lost to shit sports. 1 Link to comment
