"black history tends to get erased, so their stories arent told in the parks," what does this mean? there are plenty of parks here donated by slave owners but with little or no mention it was enslaved peoples who made the land what it was. black history is often ignored in favor of white history. for example, the emancipation of enslaved people wasnt just white people finally doing something good, it was as much about black people pushing for it. they are often portrayed as passive actors in history when the history of america is as much a black history as anyone elses. white people shouldnt have to stay home. nobody is saying that. the point is, for certain segments of society, the idea of being in the wilderness whilst black isnt exactly super appealing. its bad enough being black in some cities. there are numerous instance of black people doing normal things and having Karen's call the police. black people in national parks have had police called on them for asking people to leash their dog Link to comment
