Spain 2 - 0 Scotland

Recommended Posts

Big game coming up tomorrow. Anything better than a 2-0 loss means winning the group is in our hands (just need to beat Norway & Georgia).

Spain will be fired up for this, but I'm not sure that will help them. I fancy us to see very little of the ball, and spend most of the game defending our box, but find a way to score and draw/lose by one.

Can't see us getting anything from this one (although I said that about the last Spain game).

Tierney out injured is huge. Him missing totally fucks up the 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 formation that has worked so well for us under Clarke.

Hope McTominay levels that Rodri cunt

Oh, we’re getting pumped. But we are so good these days that it doesn’t matter.

Norway v Spain on Sunday is the Big One for Spain and Norway. Pressure is on Spain and they could get desperate in these two matches.

Nations League Final of Spain v Croatia was nothing special...

I'd still rate Croatia as the better team overall, they are much more consistent. I reckon that Holland would have beat Spain in 90 minutes had they been in the final, Croatia demolished them.

It will be a better Spain side we face, but I'm not worried about it, which is a rarity at this stage in qualifying for Scotland. The France friendly will be interesting. We should comfortably win against Georgia, probably less so against Norway, they defend well and Blonde Frankenstein will be sniffing about. He'll up his game big time against Spain, I reckon. They can't qualify through the playoffs so they'll have to be impressive.

We should play Belgium and/or Austria in a friendly before the Euros, if that's possible. No weak sauce friendlies like in 2021 against Luxembourg and... Holland, LOL!

We need to make a really good dent in the Euros and go into the World Cup qualifiers and Nations League A (which helps decide the second-placed World Cup playoffs) as top seeds for once. Then power on to Yankland to face Angola, Paraguay and Thailand!

Are there very many friendly dates with nation league games these days.

The schedule got screwed up due to the winter World Cup. I think it will be a better schedule from now on.

But the way it is set up by FIFA/UEFA, you could perform badly in the Nations League then have to REALLY play great in the World Cup qualifiers, which will be intense as fuck anyway.

We'll have to wait and see who Scotland get in the Nations League. The draw is on Thursday 8th February in Paris.

Hopefully, it's Poland, Switzerland, Denmark!
