aberdeen1970
Pittodrie's greatest ever night. Was some bounce when Johnny scored. 1 2 Link to comment
BaaBaaRedSheep
Oh the irony. 41 years ago was such a surreal, glorious time. Present day is the polar opposite. Glad I was there in 1983😊. Link to comment

A thing most other clubs can only dream of. 1 Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Johnny Hewitt is my favourite ever Don. Not always a starter but the importance of the goals he scored were off the charts. Top lad as well. Epitomises everything that Aberdeen football club should be about. 4 1 Link to comment

Don't think I'd noticed before, but the amount of German-language advertising boards around Pittodrie shows this would have been a massive live TV game in Germany. Link to comment

Hoppy
I was 6. Remember watching it with my old man. Shame I wasn't old enough to really appreciate it at the time. Link to comment
Kincardine_Mearns_Red
I was 4 at the time so was a bit before my time supporting the dons and awareness of how great a team we were during that era. A far cry from todays negligent owners and shambles. Link to comment

Yorston Vasey
Here's a wild and ridiculous take.. but imagine if we were always that good. Imagine if that was just another win against Bayern Munich. It wouldn't mean very much, it would just blend into the mists of time. It would be mundane, routine, nothing to particularly recall 41 years after the fact. How dull would that be? Thanks to the sterling efforts of Colgate-teeth and his merry band of shite managerial appointments, our historical achievements shine all the brighter. Chapeau, Cormack. Well done! 1 Link to comment

We got lucky in that game folk were leaving before the Mcleish goal but it all turned in 90 seconds. I was in section X so good view of the drama. The last 12 minutes is something I'll never forget. 1 Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Permit me, misty eyed, to roll out the tale, once again from the world of the dodgy transistor radio. Where were you when John Hewitt scored the winner against Bayern Munich? Halfway down the stair to tell the Old Man we’d equalised. 1 Link to comment
