Especially given it was the officials fùck up regarding the substitutions.

You can't just decide to walk on during an attacking phase for the other team, and then just sit on yer arse to deliberately stop the play.
Plus his nose was pissing blood, he should have been off the field getting treatement.

I'm not sure just giving a yellow for this would be enough, so a red it is for me.

I don't know the answer to this, but what would happen if a player on the bench decided to come on during active play and sit on the park to deliberately stop the attacking play for the other team?

Because it's not classed as a red card offence.

Entering the field of play without permission is a yellow card offence.

Ref should just have allowed play to carry on if Mbappe wasn’t interfering with play.  Then once the ball was dead or the next suitable moment gone back to give Mbappe the yellow card. 
 

Similar principle should apply to injured players…..ref should have the discretion to allow play to carry on and allow a physio to come on to treat the injured player while the game’s still going on.
