My understanding is that even using "vibes" at the end of that sentence is now old hat. The even newer and cooler way is just to say "it's giving X"... for example, if I was a Gen Z and @BrianFaePerth was posting about Australia, in response I could rightly reply: "It's giving cringe". 3 Link to comment

Dons79
Vets supposed to be there to help animals in need. Dogs not well, bout of pancreatitis. anti emetic jag for sickness. paracetamol for pain relief. bag of fluids. ultrasound to check his liver, kidneys such like. 1500 quid, would never see my best pal in pain and can afford it. He’s back in today for blood work and fluids again today. So another bill coming. Now. some folk cannot afford this, it’s shocking the prices, all it’s going to do is make folk watch their beloved pet suffer as they cannot afford this. Now if it where to be the case that they are doing everything as cheaply as fuck, wouldn’t mind, no, they have monetised it and are using the suffering of pets to extract as much money as they can. Vets weren’t built for that years ago, they cared, 24 quid for 4 paracetamol, the very same paracetamol you can get in Tesco for 54p for 16. That’s not looking after animal welfare!, that’s pricing decent people that cannot afford to pay to not bother. That’s not in the animals interest. 60 quid for a consult with the vet without treatment. Ridiculous. To be honest, they should be bloody ashamed of themselves. Il be 3 grand because my dogs unwell, not disastrous unwell, not broken bones, no major illnesses, no surgery. A pancreatitis attack cause he’s 11, which happened last year as well. They know they will get it now as most bills are big when involved with the vet, so insurance. Thats 2 whole days wages for a 1500 a day ma man, I am not one of those men. Arseholes. 2 Link to comment

If you are prescribed medication for your pet you can just get a prescription from them and source it much cheaper online. They don't advertise the fact you can do that. Some vets are better than others, it's the rise of pet insurance that's led to all this, I've heard of dogs getting chemotherapy for fuck sake. 2 Link to comment

That’s what we do, but in unwell circumstances they take your dog, keep him for hours and when you pick him up, the bills already there, it’s shocking. Chemo would be fine if he was young, but he’s old, they take the piss. Link to comment

Isn’t it a case of people caring more and willing to spend more and now we have the technology to prolong the life of the pet. New technology costs more. Then also most people have insurance now so more things get covered, higher demand leads to higher prices. Link to comment

I’ve thought about this, most pets just get cremated and disappear? Rather than buried in the garden these days? Link to comment
