K-9
4500 is pathetic. Even after the last Semi, and taking into consideration the kick-off time, 9000 should be the bare minimum we take to a trip to Hampden. In any cup, but especially the big one. I can only hope a few thousand more see sense come the end of the week. Think 4500 is because folk have seen sense!! Link to comment
Stoney
I think the numbers will reduce after tonight! If we keep the aggregate below 8 for the next two games than i will be happy. Need to get the loooooooooosers out of the club. Link to comment
Site Sponsor RTYD Posted April 13, 2011 Site Sponsor Share Posted April 13, 2011 Judging by most articles people just don't seem to be up for this Semi as much as they were for the other one. We have a chance to win an even bigger trophy, though any trophy for us would be an achievement. What can we do as fans to get ourselves up for the match as well as the players and no that doesn't mean a large piss up, although it may help! The bubble was well and truly burst after the last one when I believe most of us who were there saw conclusively that the collection of losers we have who are collectively known as "The Players" were seen to being totally inept, devoid of backbone and fight. I am going on Sunday out of duty but expect to be hosed again. If that happens I expect the Board and management to tell us early next week about the 15 players they are moving on. An Eddie Turnbull type revolution is long overdue. Link to comment

cammyt
I would urge all fans to get down to this game on sunday - This is it, our whole season in one game !! I fully understand the total apathy towards the team at the moment but we are who we are & nobody can change the players we have at the moment. Let us show Milne & the watching media what we are capable of and get right behind the team. I agree we need a total clearout in the summer but this weekend is not the time for ripping into the players. I do not buy into the theory that the players do not care, I just think they are not good enough. So lets give them our full support one last time & who knows what might happen. In the previous semi we went into it with new found optimism, whereas this time everyone fully expects us to get hammered again, so maybe (Just maybe) we will surprise everyone including ourselves. So come on guys (& gals) lets support the CLUB that we all love!! STAND FREE Link to comment

This is my point though - I do think they give a f**k! They are just not good enough ! Having thought though - every time we bring a big support, recent semi, tynecastle semi a few years ago against Jutes & several tanndump visits, the team just collapse. So maybe a small turnout will help! Link to comment
Stoney
I strongly dissagree Langfield has proven he can be a good keeper - he just bottles it, Diamond / Considine have both had outstanding games for us but are a shambles just now, The midfield is an utter joke apart from milsom, and dont even get me started on our strikers, this team needs some serious investment, if the directors arnt going to show any passion why should the fans. We are being sold short and most are fed up with it and voting with their feet. Potentional for a sub 10k crowd tonight>? i think its seriously on the cards. Link to comment

I do agree with you but these are the only players we have for sunday & I think we should still get behind them fully for sunday. Change cannot happen until the summer & the constant open criticism of some players can only be negative. Mackie (although injured) & young spring to mind - we know they (and probably they know as well) are not good enough but they still never shirk their reponsibility. It is not their fault they play for us, the club bought these guys (or in mackies case kept him on) & it is up to the club to replace them with better players. Diamond will be away this summer & unfortunatley will not be missed, he has turned into a liability & has probbaly been detrimental to considines progress. Considine himself, I think can be a good defender but badly needs a no nonsense experienced centre half beside him. Vernon has showed that he will score goals (when fit) & magennis shows a lot of promise. Maguire, I also think could be a good player, if he learns to play for the team & not just himself. So in summer I would think priority should be a strong centre half plus 2 or 3 midfielders to help out Milsom (should he stay). I still think Barry Robson would be a good shout, if we can get him on a free. Link to comment

Folley could work in middle of park with Milsom & also Fyvie if manages to make full recovery. Could hartley maybe play centre half or sweeper?? Long shot but he is experienced enough & his legs have clearly gone for midfield. We will just have to wait & see. I have faith in Broon & Knox to find the right people! How much money we will have (if any) is anyones guess!! Link to comment
Slick
I didn't choose to support the Dons - the club is in my blood, my father supports them, my grandfather supported them, and I'm bringing up my boy up to support them. If I was a gloryhunting c##t expecting my team to walk this match then I'd be dressed in green, spouting s##t, and buying tickets for the other end of the park. . . . . but I'm not, I follow Aberdeen - through the good times and through the bad. I'm going in the hope of a win rather than the expectation. I'm going to show the OF filth what being a real fan means, and that for all their success and financial clout we'll still stand up to them and not meekly give up. . . . . but more so I'm going because it's my club, part of my history, and part of who I am. tup
Who can blame the fans: 1. The league is a two-horse procession, with a yawning chasm of points from October onwards to third.2. We have nothing to play for.3. We have a huge game on Sunday.4. The huns have the referees and authorities in their pocket, making an already difficult task virtually impossible.5. The kids love the Champions League, and the Spurs game is on the box, even though it's over, it will be watched by millions. I agree - I now pick & choose my games carefully. Sunday will be my last this season if we lose, unless we get another trip to Paisley - only because it is only 15 miles down the road & a good excude for a piss up! Scottish football is in a sorry state & the 10 clubs outside the OF should be putting serious pressure on them to get at least a play off system in place for 2nd place and european spots. At least this would generate some measure of excitment & also possibly extra revenue from TV companies. Now is the time to stand up to these 2 before our game dies completely. That is if it has'nt already!!! Link to comment

Let us show Milne & the watching media what we are capable of and get right behind the team. We have done this continually over the years, through blind faith and love for the club. We have travelled well in both the cups and leagues and have continually shown that we are willing supporters and will get right behind the team, home and away. What have we had in return? The occasional brilliant performance, a best of the rest once, and various humiliations in the cup. While I think it would be quite likely that if we were playing Motherwell or St. Johnstone this weekend, the figure would be more than doubled, the predicted low crowd can only hit the message home to the board harder. We, as a support, are growing tired of following mediocrity at excessive prices. Link to comment

I'm one of the old 'uns on here and have witnessed the good and the bad stretching back decades. The "team" may not deserve our support, but to my mind at a semifinal (especially v one of the OF) the "club" does. There are plently of threads regarding the players and management and I don't want to aid this thread decending the same way. All I'll say is that one objective the club should have (and we fans should expect) is a good cup run . . . . well we've reached two cup semifinals this year (acceptedly by the skin of our teeth) and (back on subject) I am very much up for it on Sunday. I applaud your past dedication and fully understand your current sentiments though. Link to comment
