Why would you want to scrap the North of Scotland and AFC Trophies? There the top two trophies to win in the amateur association (ignoring the Scottish Cup). If you are to drop cups then the individual league cup is the one to scrap.

good point on the league cup, division 2 and 3 sides hardy progress in the AFC, the NOS is another cup with a few teama fae the north, to me thats just anohter AFC type cup, with the lack of ref's and weather being pish Id still get shot of the AFC or NOS!

We're a completely inconsistant team to be quite honest with you. Struggling to get numbers at training and games, which is never good.

When we have our full squad together, we can compete with anyone in the league - we did over the pre season have our full squad and were thumping teams.

Sitting about 4th bottom - not adrift but need to start picking up more points.

Down to Luthermuir this Saturday then away to Edinburgh in the Scottish Cup next weekend

Your Scottish cup tie will be tricky mate, never played against them yet as their on the oppostie section from us but from what ive been told they are good.

If i get any decent info ill pass it on to you.

We've ended up getting the best team in Edinburgh away so pretty much fucked our chances for a decent run! :clangers2:

Sorry, i should have said, our game is against Mayfield and Easthouses from Dalkeith, not Edinburgh (as in Edinburgh City).

Same league mate, just they play in the east section, my team is currently in the West. Lad in my work plays upfront for them but can't much from what he says.

The less said about our Scottish Cup tie the better!! :clangers2::banghead::poster_oops:

I play for South Gyle AFC, new team just started by my mate so thought id join them.

Teething problems like all new sides but our starting 11 is very good. Beat a premier side 6-0 in a cup.

If your on a PC, and go into photo's and videos ya'll see my amazing finish by clicking on Sporting.

The website is also a work in progress!

We got beat by Kincorth on Saturday, It was 2-2 then they won 4-2 in extra time. We missed a sitter right at the end of 90 minutes which would have won it, fell to the wrong boy though! He is the quickest person ever (quicker than Bolt) but has the touch of a clumsy Rhino. They had a player sent off at the very end for reacting to a potential leg breaker tackle, and our boy got off with a yellow.

Out of all the cups now so concentrate on the league! Cups are for homos anyhow.

It's a step up fella, don't listen to him.

I won't be at training the night Florin - obviously heading up to hospital instead, but I imagine I'll be there Saturday and on the bench due to not being at training the past 2 weeks (1 for court, and now 1 for my pops) - so I'll yap to you on the sidelines and continue to sell the massive club to you.

Ferryhill are #1!

Ferryhill are terrible

That's quite the fall from grace Florin!

Been in Australia for most of this year. Home for 7 weeks and new manager at Banks O Dee not looking like even involving me on the bench (not naming a keeper at all), never mind playing me. Spoke to him on Monday so just asked to be released. Could probably have got another decent junior team but I just want to go and play with my mates and enjoy playing again hopefully. Standard probably pi$h but it's a hobby and you've gotta enjoy it or what's the point? Will see how it goes for a couple of months or see who becomes aware of my situation. Said to Banks O Dee if anything happened to other keeper then we could speak again but we'll see

Yeah I'll be on the sidelines with Rossy as he's injured too. Will see you there anyway. Probably make debut next week once I'm signed

I am long time viewer first time poster!!

Having been involved at Amateur Level for 10 years I decided due to Personal and Health Reasons to step down from my Club to get a season ticket for the Dons to spend some mich needed time with my Son, not even a Dons Fan myself but he is and he is loving it, must admit I am too!

Anyways maybe I took it the wrong way but I just felt I needed to respond to a post about how there was perhaps maybe too much teams in the AAFA and too many Leagues etc. Personally I disagree with the statement as I find it quite elitest and is perhaps not a comment someone from a Division 2 or 3 Club would make. When I started out in the AAFA they had just newly got rid of the 7 Division system and then soon after changed it to Prem, Div 1, 2 and 3 etc. In my opinion the AAFA is one of the best, if not the best organised Amateur FA in the Country, Ok, so we do not get success nationally but I ask does that really matter? Facilities aside here in the North-East we have Scottish League, Highland League, Junior and Amateur Levels. League Clubs aside the other 3 essentiallly all leaning on and competing with each other as a medium for developing and finding players as well as giving everyone in the region a platform to play the game itself. For me the reason the Amateur Sections down South are so strong is not because they have less clubs, better facilities or set up, it is because of the fact, IMO, they not only have a larger proportion of potential players ie Glasgow area but the fact that the Junior Section in those areas is a mix between League and Highland League level Clubs that a large amount of the Amateur Players at their disposal would probably be playing in the upper reaches of Junior Football, essentially, a large proportion of these Clubs are run like and financed like Junior Clubs. Also, I am not really a fan of his but in many ways Jimmy Calderwood was right in that players from these areas have a certain grittiness that sometimes gives them the edge, not saying we are soft up here, just differing mentalities but you need more than that to win games.

We could re-structure up here, have less Club, less Leagues however for me that sends the wrong message, all we are saying there is that you have to be the best to compete and eventually all you will have is a big divide of the Clubs with the best Players and who attract the best players and the ones who dont, there would be no middle ground and to me that is why I love the AAFA, it is so unpredictable and that is what you want, you want to chat and speculate about results and then come saturday night be shocked when the opposite happens. Dont get me wrong we will always have the big name, long established clubs with fantastic support and committee networks who are a credit to every single person involved with them however for a Sport that we say is our National game it should be open to everyone and remain that way so for me the lesser named Clubs and Divisions are just as important if not arguably the lifeblood of this level actually, ok they may not have the best players, coaches, set ups, kits, pitches and them getting hammered most weeks be it in cups or even in the League but so what? Many times over the years I have been on the end as a Player and a Manager at both ends of the Scale, coming up against Clubs and groups of players who see you as an embarassment to them and not good enough to be on the same pitch as them, for me there was always that added motivation to ram it right down their throats and it is this precise unpredicability that I love about the AAFA as stated. No two games are ever the same no two seasons are the same, you can win everything one season and get relegated the next, that is just how it goes and that is what makes it great as well as the banter and the good will too!

This has turned into a bit of an essay I am sorry and I am sorry if I misread the comment, just feel that for all the faults we feel we have we should be proud of what we have and enjoy it!

Well my dads in hospital as said in a previous thread, so I may not be there Saturday depending on when he gets out.

If he gets out today / tomorrow - I'll head down to Laaaaaarencekerrrk though. I ain't fit to start, been injured and missed training so bench for me making an inpact as a subby in the centre of midfield. Dominating force in there.

Sorry to hear that big guy. Hope it's nothing serious and he'll be out and better soon. I'll take your place on the bench, maybe even get a couple of games outfield at some point ;)
