A rapid covid test at ABZ Airport.

55 sheet and the pleasure of having to self violate my nostrils a good 6 inches while hungover with a nosey nurse making sure you dont cheat.

I bloody well did not enjoy it.

Black boy before me had to do it with a tube of smarties.

?. It's nae an enjoyable experience get the swab test at all. Got a home test kit last week, free of charge, and got the result in within 48 hours. Passed the test though.

Mentioned in the Covid thread. Need a laptop/chromebook (dinna know the difference) for homeschooling

Using a combo of work laptop and phones is a pain in the arse. Ipad is useless.

Don't need some powerful thing. Something for Google classroom etc.

Cheers

The school not provide one? Useless cunts.

Not that I'm aware....

Had heard they were dishing them out across Aberdeen, but assumed we weren't eligible

I'd assume a chrome book (don't have one) would run teams ( I think you can actually do it through the browser tbh) as that is a delivery mechanism for online teaching.

You'd be about 200 for a new one  - any of the usual tech brands will be fine as they are all much of a muchness, the only thing I'd caution is make sure not to get 32 as they get silly quickly minimum 64

(Assumed you were looking for advise if not apols)

Cheers for that. Was planning around 200, 300 at a push.

Massively out of touch with technology these days. Chi-phone does everything I need (afc chat & Google pay)

The 64GB is the biggest thing to look out for its probably 30 quid more than a 32, but its money well spent.

The machine will be basic but will work  small screen but its for a kid so...it'd be a lot of cloud usage for the teaching - so should be fine

Latest didn't purchase was a shirt. I noticed a shirt I liked in a sale this week (an e-mail from a place I buy from) reduced by 30% and would've bought it but for a sinister reason; what's the point?

Then I thought, even if it goes to 50% off, what's the point?

I guess like all of us, we are not going out of the house as much and will have tons of stuff in our wardrobes that hasn't seen the light of day for a year now. This Covid business is wrecking all parts of the economy and it would almost have been a sympathy purchase just to help a preferred retailer. The words of my eldest daughter rang true for once; she cautions me to ask myself - do I need it? - when buying stuff. Well no, zero socialising means no new clothes required for me cos I'm not wearing out the current ones.

Agree with that - waste if time buying clothes just now.  Bought a jacket in the summer, never been on.

Bought a couple of shirts, polo's and a pair of jeans in the last year.

Rests been joggers, shorts, t-shirts, hoodys, jumpers for wearing while staying at home and protecting the NHS

Grim really

Same. Think I bought a new outfit for going out on Xmas day but other than that it's been slothing gear.

Cleared out my boxer and sock drawer when I was bored so felt a splurge on some new ones was necessary.

Saying that it's a good time to stock up on trainers etc. Money saved on going out can easily fund some additions to the collection.

Some guys are right into trainers and buy loads. I got 4 pairs which is double what I need but picked them up in sales online and my idea was to share the usage so that they last longer. Even my day-to-day trainers are getting less than an hour or two per week - so I never even look at trainers these days.

The demises of John Lewis and Debenhams etc. represents a shift towards Amazon and online retailing. This was another choice that we didn't make, as with the shift to outlaw cash.

I've got far too many pairs, normally bought through boredom.

Did think of selling heaps of them but I'd only waste the money on other shit.

Usually buy a fair few pairs of trainers a year.

Last year 2 pairs. Pair of handball spezial and a pair of manchester 89. Basically the same trainer but different colours.  Worn a combined total of about 5 times.

Old ultra techs or forest groves for the majority of the last year whole working at home. Might throw on a pair of Atlanta if I'm feeling wild.

Likes of attic etc must be getting battered by this
