Spiers resigning means a position will be open at the Herald for an objective and respected Scottish sports journalist to take over.

(for those who don't know, Angela Haggerty, as well as being a Herald columnist is not new to this saga, having amongst her other list of achievements, been sub-editor of "Downfall, the fall of Rangers" by the Irish gadgie whose name I can't spell). And yes Tup, you're right, that shouldn't matter but you'd think she'd have the sense and personal wherewithall to maybe be third or fourth in line, not leading the charge!

basically two journalists including spiers were sacked/pushed by the herald after the huns complained and got the story pulled as well and were threatened with getting sued

but wings over scotland has got hold of it and reprinted it and welcomes the new rangers to sue him instead

 

could get good as usually people and the press back off at this point

 

 

On the rare occasions when this site discusses football, and in particular if we mention the three-year-old Championship club known as “Rangers”

A minority of AFC fans get all precious about some of the West Of Scotland journos.

 

I don't mind Spiers at all, and good on him for having the balls to tell his employer to GTF over this affair, more power to him. If more of his mates had the same wisdom as him, maybe Rangers would have been dead in the water 4 years ago, like they should have been.

 

Spiers and Tom English are the exceptions to the rule though, unfortunetly.

They've nae money, hence the loaning of King. The sevco board is giving it "The Alms for Allah" nearly every month. Do they not need 2.5M to get them to seasons end?

How many times have we been told they need x amount to get x month and it's never happened.

I think it's time to get over it boys.

Enough silly cunts give them money to continue, if and when they come up next season, it will be a race to get a squad to stop Celtic winning 10 in a row, unless AFC can get agrip and start by winning mid week.

Rangers have reopened talks with St Johnstone as they look to finally push their move for Michael O'Halloran over the line, according to Press Association Sport.


The Glasgow club failed with two previous bids for the Saints wide man earlier this month.


But now they hope to revive the move after submitting an offer in the region of £500,000, which is subject to a number of clauses.

There you go, prob circa £50K upfront, another £50K if they get promoted, another £100K if the finish top 6 next season, another £100K if they Q for Europe, £100K if they win a cup, and remainder if they win the league.
