rgudon
He has made a bigger contribution this season than Fallon and Vernon put together. Worth another season I would say. 3 Link to comment

minijc
I like his attitude but he's certainly not a football, impact sub at best and versatile will be on a small wage compared to others. 1 Link to comment

Stoneybloke
Why is the criticism that is being applied to Magennis not directed at Vernon as well. He had an absolutely shocking season but seems to be immune from the boo-boys for some reason. McInnes has seen that Magennis has potential. He should be given the chance to develop it. As for Vernon, if he had been out of contract I think McInnes would have had no hesitation in letting him go. Link to comment
muttonhumper
Unique?Fit do you think he means by that? Obviously a compliment of some sort... He told the club's official website: "I have never hidden my desire to remain at Aberdeen so I am delighted to put pen to paper on a contract extension."It is a great club, with a unique set of fans and I hope next season I can repay the faith shown in me by everyone associated with Aberdeen FC. The squad is already looking forward to the season kicking off and I am certainly determined to play my part in bringing success back to Aberdeen." http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/magennis-signs-new-deal-with-aberdeen.1369226472? ebbe
hard to argue with anything sotr has said about magennis. a truly honking footballer has signed an extension, terrible news. Link to comment

I imagine if he has another poor season next year he will not be offered a new contract. Link to comment
King Street Loon
I can't say I'm pleased that he's been given an extension, because I'm not.But there's nothing that can be done about it now, so just got to get behind him and the team. Harrumph! Link to comment

tup
This has fair pished on the good news chips we were dining out on after mcginn's extension. Having said that I'll go with the consensus view that despite being pish at football Josh deserves yet another summer where he might drastically genetically morph into someone who can play the game. Its the least he deserves for his sheer effort. Link to comment
ebbe
Just because you got it so wrong about Vernon, you don't have to feel obliged to take the contrary view re Josh. Unless you genuinely believe what you write, and get it wrong every single time. like you with szczesny? I would rap up and attend games if I were you. 3 Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
I think Josh has earned another year & hopefully in that year he gets to stay in one position (when he gets on) & not thrown all over the place. He is a squad player & will be cheap at that. He is here for cover basically. We cannot sign a full squad of players that are deserving of being in the first 11 all the time & that's the simple truth of it.He has not been signed as the main partner for McGinn we all want & know we need (he's still to come & I trust McInnes is on it) he has been signed to basically ensure the youngsters have someone to aim at to replace on the bench & to keep them battling & basically if they are incapable of ousting Josh, well then I do not want to see them anywhere near his place on the bench because if they haven't got the ability NOW to surpass him then they better get their fucking arses in gear I believe young Dec certainly is good enough to replace Josh right now but if he doesn't take that chance, then Josh will be in ahead of him on the bench. 2 Link to comment
CraigHill
Absolute fucking abomination of a player.Disgrace that he's anywhere near any professional football team let alone our once great club.Utterly unbelievable that he was signed in the first place, but being given an extension of a year is unforgivable. 3 4 Link to comment
V for Vendetta
I've always thought he was a waste of time as he just doesn't have any footballing ability. Then once in a while that physique, raw power, whatever really shows up and for a few fleeting seconds you think - this guy could be unstoppable. Then a reality bubble hits and he trips over the ball, balloons it over the bar or misplaces a 5 yard pass or whatever. I can't see him ever really improving as a football player but in a weak league he might come in handy once in a while when you need some brawn up front. Link to comment
360
It's a one year deal that has been offered and accepted... a shrewd move by Del in my opinion.

If he starts playing to his best like he did at Celtic on a regular basis, then we offer him an extension and we've got a player on our books.

If not, farewell and good luck whilst there is no losses to afc. 1 Link to comment
donner kebab
Last season he was very poor and showed minimal signs that this would change for next season. I believe he is on a low wage. He is a player that could suit a spell on loan at a lower league club to learn his trade.. , Link to comment
minijc
Boy is tragic as fuck as far as being a footballer goes but he is a nice guy and I wish him all the best, head and hearts in the right place but it got a previous players at the club nowhere so i can't see it getting Josh anywhere.
