Leighton Sacked

Marshall is the safe choice for now. AFC had to advertise the position which tells me that McInnes didn't have anyone in mind when he sacked Leighton. Marshall has worked for McInnes before so he's not a total unknown and he's had some success as a coach at Motherwell. I'm sure if he's crap McInnes will let him go. He can't be any worse than Leighton, that's how I'm looking at it.

Exactly. McInnes has worked with Leighton and he's worked with Marshall. And he's decided that sacking a club legend and paying compensation for Marshall will improve the club. Good enough for me.
