Dundee V Aberdeen (0 - 2)

Great three points and an energetic, convincing performance. I didn't think there was a weakness today with Flood deserving his MOM award - he epitomised what we were about today.

As many have said, would have liked us to add to our tally in the second half but we knew what we were doing and had plenty in the tank.

Next week will give us the chance to open up a gap on Hearts and if we play like that, we'll be in with a shout.

Did Dundee not see all those... erm... Flood warnings over the last couple of days? One obvious thing that was missing when the team hit the bad spell was experience. We've got good players. But, with Robson (injured / not used) Flood's a key player. And we need to sign at least one more old head.

Flood has not improved enough from his dire recent performances to merit a place ahead of a fully fit jack. Flood was honking v county. I'd put jack in everytime.

Jack was the problem during our poor run - gutless fairy. Out the door in January so will have to make do with his place on the bench until injury/suspension dictates otherwise.

And was he the problem when we won 8 in a row with him when flood was nowhere near the team?

Just watch flood. Always out of position chasing about like a headless chicken, touch like a brick and terrible passing. There are so many times he even misjudges a bouncing ball, leaving him unable to challenge and beaten before he knows it. County goal last week a direct result of a horrific first touch from flood. Jack is 10 times the football player flood is. It's just he doesn't run about daft for 90 minutes so people take what he does for granted.

A combination of the two players would be great but at the moment Flood is pissing all over Jack. He brings a lot more of what we need to the team right now.

He is a fantastic tackler & doesn't give the opposition a seconds peace. Yes his passing is poor most of the time (mainly because he is always playing at 110 mph) but he is far more deserving of a game now than Jack is.

Jack was where he deserved to be today & thankfully Flood done more than enough today to make it very hard for McInnes to justify replacing him for Jack next week.

What a load of rubbish.

You are seeing what you want to see.

I don't see every Dons game, but today he was the best player on the pitch and to my mind is essential to the function of the team, a classic water carrier.

What Flood lacks in skill he makes up for in workrate and determination. What the clearly better footballer in jack lacks in moving forwards at speed he doesn't appear to be overly bothered about.

Said often enough on here. Other teams had Sussed how to play us. Not when we come out of the traps at 100mph they don't. Dundeh were simply overwhelmed in that first 20 minutes. Their left back didn't know what day of the week it was.

I'm not saying Flood alone gives us that impetus. As Ebbe said our front four on form are probably the best in the country and by fuck they were yesterday. But, on the evidence of the last three games, and to be fair I didn't see Hamilton he seems to have helped give us that pressing edge.

Why? Because I have a different opinion from most of the rest of you? Standard fair on here to hammered for that.

Taking jack completely out the argument, flood is a terrible footballer. I'm not denying his workrate but he very often gets caught in possession or loses possession in dangerous areas when he's closed down and teams break on us from it. His passing ability has been discussed plenty. Whether it's jack who is in instead of him or not, I don't think flood is good enough.
