I liked aul' Brucie, but you are right - in his heyday he had a look reminiscent of Dick Dastardly.

 

The State Bar* in Glasgow (great pub) has some old posters from Glasgow Theatres advertising who was appearing, and Brucie is on one of them. I think its from the 50s or 60s.

Nae mention for Tobe Hooper? Director of deliciously dreadful low budget horror films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ( so good he made it twice ) and not to forget the excellent original Poltergeist. Died of natural causes. Would have been more appropriate if someone had sawed him in half or dismembered him completely. Maybe pinned him to a door with an axe through his head. Missed opportunity.
