V for Vendetta
I'm sure this season he will be a regular starter rather than mostly coming off the bench. I'm sure McInnes will have promised him that to entice him back. The question is if McInnes signs two quality wide players (for arguement sake let's say Greg Stewart and Maloney) then does Shinnie possibly revert to left back for a larger portion of games with Tansey and McLean playing behind Christie as a number 10? Be interesting to see how that develops. Christie is by far at his most effective as a number 10 from what I've seen. He's good from wide positions too it's just not where he is most effective. Christie playing as a number 10 is easily capable of scoring 15+ goals for us next season. The boy certainly knows where the back of the net is he puts McLean to shame in that particular department. We can afford more than just 11 strong players shinniesta. I think Shinnie would stay in midfield and we'd change the attacking line up game to game. Link to comment

If he keeps Shinnie in midfield it likely means that Christie will be either on the bench or played wide. Link to comment

I suspect he does like to be consistent and I think that's probably a personal preference from when he played - probably the type of player to really play his best when given that trust every week. Even so, mcinnes is learning and adapting as a manager and if we have strong enough options I think he'll use them and change things around when needed. Link to comment

However he sets our team up this coming season I hope DM plays Christie as a 10 in the vast majority of our games. He has the potential to be a real jewel in the crown for us if utilised properly. The sort of player that can win a tight games with his eye for a goal and ability to arrive in the box at just the right time. A very intelligent player and a very accomplished and composed finisher. slinkyvagabond
I reckon RC will start most games if fit next season. If he is to play as a no 10 with Tansey and McLean behind him then its not beyond the realms of possibility that Shinnie might revert to LB? Link to comment

A real game changer. As we have witnessed ourselves when he basically single handedly turned the game against us in Inverness a couple of seasons ago. I think that game probably helped get him signed for Celtic too. That said though, I'm not sure how Celtic fans would have any idea how he offers more centrally. Not like they have seen him playing there for them & they are far to self obsessed to ever notice how he played for another team. Link to comment

Shinniesta
Same as McGinn then. This is just a myth as far as I'm concerned. Yes McGinn is a Celtic fan but for anyone to insinuate that he didn't try against them is just plain wrong. He scored 3 times against Celtic at Parkhead for Aberdeen that's not the record of someone who didn't try against them. I'd say it was more a case of he wasn't effective enough in a lot of the games against them because for large periods he didn't get the ball as we were defending in numbers against the best team in the country. The tears at the end of the cup final were clearly 100% genuine. McGinn was a great player for us but he was inconsistent...if he wasn't he'd never have been anywhere near Aberdeen FC in the first place. 3 2 Link to comment

No-one accuses him of not trying against them. He doesn't try against them but scored 3 times at Patkhead against them? Yeah whatever. GTF. 1 2 Link to comment

Shinniesta
As I said, drivel. Rooney was poor for more than half the season IMO.You want to see Aberdeen players not trying against Celtic then go and fucking watch a re-run of the 9-0 game. Then you will see the difference between players not trying and an Aberdeen player that actually scored three times against Celtic at Parkhead. We have some seriously strange "fans". 3 1 Link to comment

Reliablesource
Christie might realise soon that he's not a part of Celtic's future plans, and much better staying with us long term.Christie already knows that he's not in Rodgers future plans. He's on much more per week than all our players though. He wouldn't take a pay cut to move to Aberdeen permanently and he won't in the future either. He will do alright again next season and probably improve, then go back to Celtic with, incredibly, only a year left of his 4 year contract. Celtic will sell him to a English champ club next summer and make a very slight profit. Link to comment
manboobs109
Just noticed Ryan is 100/1 to be top spl goalscorer. Mad price if you ask me considering his goal record for us so far. Defo worth a fiver each way Link to comment

slinkyvagabond
If RC wanted to join us permanently the deal would already be done. A loan to us is good for him as he gets games and the chance to put himself in the shop window without having to take a drop in wages etc. Signing him on a permanent deal would be a real signal of intent by the club but we are not at that stage yet.
