aberdeen1970
McLennan will be a big player for us next season. He's had a full season under his belt now, I think he'll kick on next year. Still a bit raw but lots of potential there 1 Link to comment
boboisared
Is that the same McLennan that constantly makes the wrong decision? @@MillertimeTo be honest, I think he needs to look up more in the final third. Don't think it's a problem of him making the wrong decision but more an issue of youthful exuberance. 2 Link to comment
TheRock
He does seem to run down cul de sacs quite a lot but I guess that's to be expected from a young winger. Not overly bothered about a player that wants to run at a defence rather than pass it sideways or backwards. He will need to improve that side of his game though. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Think it shows that for all the tactics and systems and false 9 chat, having a winger that can beat a full back and put in a cross is still one of the best ways of scoring.Good reason why we should be trying to nab the wingers from Ross County.Their stats (regardless of it being in championship) are impressive.Hope we have taken a look at least Link to comment

The Boofon
Bruce Anderson, Scott Wright and McLennan should all be in the starting 11 next season. 2 2 Link to comment
Tord31
McLennan yes (would like McLennan, McGinn plus one more as 3 for 2 positions) but jury is still out on Anderson and especially Wright. Wright is dining in the last chance saloon between now and September 2nd. Three huge months for him. Link to comment
The Boofon
Wright was Dundee’s best player according to Dundee fan at my work. Granted they got relegated but he shone like a star for them. Link to comment
Tord31
Aye scored some cracking goals just like against Partick. Needs to prove it for us though - which he's not done yet in a pressure situation (showboating when we are already 2-0 up against St Mirren or Partick is the easy bit) 1 Link to comment
boboisared
The modern fitba blog has stated several times that Wrights stats are up there with the very best in regards to his overall contribution to the team (obviously lacks the assists and goals). He needs to toughen up IMO. Link to comment

I expect most of his games for Dundee were under the pressure of trying to avoid relegation. Link to comment

I’d say the safest bet is Aberdeen’s Connor McLennan. Like Turnbull, McLennan (19) was first flagged back in the summer of 2017 when, as a 17-year old, he he had the third highest age adjusted goal production for players with more than 1,000 minutes of developmental football. He also showed up in this season’s Scoring Chance Key Passes numbers as being one of the most impactful players in the league…only James Tavernier averaged more per 90 than McLennan. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Unfortunately for McLennan, many of his key scoring chances created will have fallen to May Link to comment
Tord31
He should be a first pick player this season. All the more reason we could imo justify signing a couple of older players Link to comment

I think 7 assists is a more than decent return for his first season getting regular game time. He doesn't take free kicks or corners either. He should be a first pick player this season. All the more reason we could imo justify signing a couple of older playersYeah, should absolutely be his place to lose now. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Connor McLennan is going to make it with us. He looks like he's got what it takes and has a good mentality... at 19 y/o he's already doing well and making a contribution to the first team. As a young winger, he will have some ropey games... probably quite a few next season. There are obviously some things he needs to work on - like getting his head up earlier, etc. However, overall it's obvious that he's going to develop further and will probably have a good career at this level. Not saying he'll make the dizzying heights of a Ryan Fraser, but we should be looking at extending his contract asap - just in case he takes a flyer at the start of next season. Link to comment
