Connor Mclennan

Recommended Posts

The players listed were just not good enough. If they were then they would of went on to better things. Lewis Ferguson, Sam Cosgrove, Scott McKenna, Michael Hector, Danny Ward, James Maddison are all players who have benefited from game time under McInnes. Can even put Dean Campbell and Connor McLennan in the nearly bracket at the moment as they are getting decent game time for their age and showing good promise.

Cammy Smith can't get a start for Dundee Utd and thats not down to McInnes. Lawerence Shankland is a championship striker and he admitted himself he was nowhere near fit enough at Aberdeen. Wes Burns at Fleetwood, Gregg Wylde Livingston, Monakana is non league, McManus is on loan at Falkirk, Storie is injured constantly, Michael Rose is at Coventry, Nwakali is rank, scott wright the jury is still out.

Not every young player that comes in to the club is good enough unfortunately. You tell me a club who in McInnes spell at Aberdeen who has nurtured more young talent whether it be loan deals or permanent signings. Bids coming in of 7 million for McKenna, Ferguson in a year or two will go for good money along with Cosgrove. Hector got a move to Chelsea, Danny Ward played in the euros and was sold to leicester for 12 million. Maddison is a 50 million pound player minimum at the moment.

You can't blame that list of players failings down to McInnes. If anything it shows he was right as nobody hes let go willingly has went on to do anything of note.

And, god Forbid, Ryan 'the Snake' Jack, is another who has gone on to feature at a high level.

If Aberdeen had ever been offered £7 million for Scott McKenna he'd be at a different club now.

Got about 15 mins, give him a fucking break. Big queue in front of him in the blame game today, especially that cunt in the dugout

15 minutes or not he was shite. Over hit passes, failing to beat his man a few times, running into blind alleys.

He's been shite every game he's played this season in red.

What I will say though is he needs a run of games to get going, as I had high hopes for him this season.

I think the big question is how does a promising player like him who was outstanding in a tough away game like midweek look so poor at home against the bottom club (albeit a cameo appearance). Has McInnes’ influence not had the desired effect on him unlike the U21 Scotland coach? Is he not as good as we were hoping? Or has he not got the right attitude and thinks he can saunter through the game?

I see O'connor the same way I see Wright. They are both talented young players full of potential but they are being let down by management. They both need plenty of game time regardless of form, 4  or 5 games in a row and where possible on from the start. Coming on 5 - 10 minutes here and there heaps pressure on a young loone to come on and change a game in our favour. Derek doesn't tend to change the team if we are winning so the young guys generally are coming on having to make an impact. We need to rest some of the so called experienced players like Logan and Ferguson for their own good and to let the young guys find some kind of form.

I think McLennan will prove to be a bit of an enigma. He'll do stuff that will have you on your feet either in joy or dispair. Yesterday was dispair after being on your feet in joy during his midweek cameo had any of us been there.

You can coach a player but a lot of the decision making is down to the individual. McInnes didn't make him make slack overhit passes or make him run down blind alleys and lose possession. McLennan himself has to learn as he's got bags of ability, but i don't really think he knows what to do with it. Not sure the management do either to be fair.

I don't think he's a winger, that's for sure.
