Aberdeen V Srenhousemuir

Recommended Posts

Even though our form has been good (yesterday aside) recently we do seem to have developed a habit of losing soft sloppy goals even in games we are dominating. Livi home and away, Dundee at home, St Mirren away, Celtic at home and obviously yesterday are all recent games where we have conceded some very soft avoidable goals.

If they go into the next 3 games against Hamilton Kilmarnock Hibernian they will be well down the table. Stenhousemuir bottom of division 1 Mcinnes and his team must have come back with a few Hubble bubbly machines from Dubia. A fricking disgrace Mcinnes and company. You let your supporters down again. A home game at that. It's a good job you signed Lowe or you would be out of the cup.

Great point and as was said earlier, him and Ferguson were the problem yesterday.

People talk about pace, or lack of. It’s not. It’s tempo, vision and movement that is important. We had none of those yesterday. You could sign 11 Linford Christie’s and as a team they’d still be slower than 11 Greg Stewart’s with those attributes.

Ferguson and Shinnie just plod along, sideways sideways back back. We maybe need Gleeson in there

I agree - shinnie's touch slows play down a lot, plus he doesn't have the composure that's required in midfield.

Can't remember what I said!

I think we would be doing really well to get 6 plus

Ha ha ha ha. Wow. Not even just creeping up now. You are going mental.

You were already proven (& quoted) to have said we would be lucky to get more that ONE million for him & also quoted as saying he is NOT a multi million pound player.

Then you started creeping up by various amounts (because you know teams are going to pay big for him really) & you have now reached the figure you have stated in this post.

You really are a pathetically sneaky liar

The absence of Devlin I believe

You said that, but never quoted it...

I am entitled to change my mind you know...

I didn't have to quote it ya fkn sneak. They were sourced & quoted up by others. Just go back & see. You even tried to accuse the mods of editing your fkn posts.

Yet again trying to sneak his way out of it. You're a fkn cretin.

I THINK I said 2m originally

I would now like to change that to 6m MAX

And that is for potential, not current ability as he has a long way to go

So what's changed if all he's done since your original valuations is get rag dolled & fk up continually & get beat by a first division striker?

How has his 'potential' (one of the things you laughed at previously) suddenly increased?

Is it that we were strongly rumoured to have turned down around about that amount from Villa for him last window?

You did say lucky to get ONE mil for him & also that he is NEVER a multi mil pound player after all. Even though you tried to wriggle out of it by accusing a mod of editing your comments.

Of course everyone is entitled to change their mind as to just said btw but for you to do this now you have to admit/accept you were WRONG/fool of shit with ALL your previous opinions on his valuations. Do that & we can accept that as going some way towards you saying sorry for all your lying/sneaking & even slanderous accusations of others on the subject

We all know you haven't got the decency to do this though.

I like how so many are so relaxed about the replay & saying that they are sure we will win, or are almost 100%sure etc. but were most of us (if not all ) pretty much as sure if not more that we would win the first tie (at home) against this terrible team that is also in the middle of a terrible run at the bottom of the first division?

Yes our team/players will (hopefully at least) play with a whole new attitude & more determination but so will our opponents.

They will be lifted by how easily they held us & frustrated us away & now earned a home replay & can STILL boast an unbeaten record over us.

Are the cup Gods deliberately throwing us up against all the sides that have embarrassed us in the past & given us our worst results?

Even if we get past this lot, we could be faced with QotS in next round now.

Anyone know how many tickets we're likely to get in the replay? Normally the stand at Ochilview is home fans and the behind the goal terrace is away.

I'd estimate the stand holds about 500-600, with the terrace maybe holding 1500ish.

I'm playing 7-a-sides there tonight so will see if the boy who works there knows anything.

Hmm, I wonder if anyone knows...

What about the majority of other fixtures, where he's been dominant and shown his repertoire?

This is a 22 y/o centre half we're talking about.  He'll have bad games and make poor decisions. That's part of his development.

Laughable (but not unexpected) that folk can't see the potential in this individual.

I can see his potential - but he's a one footed centre back who is error prone in low-level matches.  I think Aberdeen have already received the highest offer they'll get for him and missed out by not taking it.

I gave up on him being the next Miller / McLeish at Motherwell's second goal in last year's semi-final.  Any return in 7 figures would be exceptional for him and The Dons should take it.

Or are we arguing that a Stenhousemuir player - the only person he had to mark - should be able to peel away and make space from any defender?

Just because it is not popular to say that McKenna isn't worth stupid money doesn't mean it isn't true.  Devlin is the more accomplished player, if he can stay fit he will be more valuable to Aberdeen.

Is there not still an option for the wee teams to allow the "home" games to be played at the away stadium and take a share of the gate?  I'm sure I've seen that happen before, but not certain it can be done for a replay.

I'd imagine that maximising revenue from this round would be in Stenhousmuir's interest.  ON the balance of probabilities, they surely don't think they can beat us?

Mckenna will make us millions.
