I would suggest those people are an anomaly, rather than the norm.

Friends I have that work accounts or similar level jobs are generally far better off than the ones who work retail.

What's the obvious answer?

Under strengths you’ve put making a cunt of it.

Being better off means you’re a different class?

?‍♂️

One of my favourite bars in town, good outside area, nae bad mix of people. Don't like the shot quines hassling me nor the athletic in the toilet but good decent priced place. Decor is crap but away to be worse, getting turned into a wine bar.

They also do the Monster Munch burger.

Sublime.

Well that's the point, it's a grey area.

But generally, yeah, it does. Of course it depends on how much by etc.

Of course it doesn’t. Fucking hell. Stop digging a hole.

It does, generally.

Anomalies that you have mentioned doesn't take that away.

Not sure about that blank statement.

I know some boys who would be at a minimum upper middle in terms of 'class' and I know other boys who would not be seen that way but the bank balances are the opposite.

There is however hereditary wealth coming to the posher lads that the 'grafter' doesn't have.

Most rich people are rich because they have family wealth - even entrepreneurs.

It’s him saying that not me.

Wise up.

Your finances and class status are completely unrelated. Only a spoiled Aberdonian brat would think the way you do.

You’re an embarrassment.

"You're finance and class status are unrelated"

Eh? Am I missing something?

Are you suggesting your class is the one you're born into, rather than the one you currently operate in @Boofon ?

Some people would argue otherwise, me being one of them.

You can grow up working class and become middle class, and then you're middle class.

Isn't that an idea of the free market? Social mobility?

It’s nothing to do with money nor is it anything to do with the job you do.

Class isn't about money, I'm struggling why you can't understand that.

No, it's not solely about money. I understand that.

It's about opportunity, upbringing, etc etc. I get that.

To say the money side of it is unrelated, is in my view, wrong. Money is what allows for the opportunities of a "higher class" person.

Every definition you'll find on class says different.

Obv I'm just missing something else.

Incorrect again.

Can’t be fucked with you anymore. A complete moron.

I have a couple of friends who's old man is worth a couple hundred million, their hobby at the weekends used to be knocking out huns. For a job they'd do 12 hour shifts in a pizza place. If you suggested to them they were middle or upper class they'd laugh at you. You can't pigeon hole people.

Their social class would probably be upper, considering they come from money, their economic class would be working, as that's how they earn their money.

It's a grey area, but I don't agree with Boof saying your income/job have nothing to do with it. Of course it does. Your job dictates your income and your ability to have financial freedom, it can't be removed from whatever class you're in.

Bored of talking about this now. Take it easy

You are now introducing social and economic classes.

Are you only now making this distinction because it escaped your mind earlier?

Or are you really overdue to go to bed as you had been told to?

If you don't understand what you are talking about, shut the fuck up man.

Like I say, I'm literally talking to 10's of people at once.

It didn't escape my mind earlier, it's what I always meant. As I mentioned before, I'll definitely fuck up with this much on the go.

Edit to add:

Its impossible to keep an argument on here going. Really easy to lose your train of thought. People just jumping on everything, being deliberately pedantic.

How much easier it would be to have these convos in person.

The class system is a thing of the past for most, it doesn't matter. If people want to think of themselves as being above or below anyone else knock on but in reality it's how you treat others on how you'll be judged.

Easy to say if you're upper class.

I find it's always people of the higher classes who downplay the impact of class.
