They will be "vaccinated environments" The vast majority of the population is vaccinated already.

That wasn't really my question, though a majority (certainly not a vast majority) doesn't constitute 'a vaccinated environment'.

You seemed to be casting doubt on the efficacy of vaccinations when it comes to slowing transmission.

Were you not doing that?

So does the covid vaccine slow the spread? Is that known for definite?

People over the age of 18 will need to show they have had both doses of the vaccine before they are allowed entry to certain venues and events. They are:

  • nightclubs and "analogous venues"
  • sexual entertainment venues
  • unseated indoor events with more than 500 people, even if some are seated
  • unseated outdoor events with more than 4,000 people
  • any event with more than 10,000 people in attendance
  • ----------------------------------------------
  • So wtf is "analogous venues".   ?

Things performing a similar function.

So if you're a nightclub but call yourself a bar you're fucked. Or if you're a sports bar/pool hall that turns into a nightclub at the weekend.

An easy way for the government to be nice and vague and get round defining it.

Terrific.

The fact that it is spreading like wildfire through a majority vaccinated population.

The vast majority of people getting sick are unvaccinated, in some areas something in the region of 98% of hospitalisations are unvaccinated, and the death rate is similar... which is pretty much what you might expect... so it's safe to say the vaccine is working to slow and mitigate the virus and its effects.

Keeping that in mind, does it not seem sensible to restrict large gatherings to people who have the greatest resistance to the virus?

Late opening pubs, casinos, wherever they want basically.

Total rubbish.

Of 514 patients in Israel hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Aug. 15, 59 percent were fully vaccinated, according to an Aug. 16 article from Science that cited national data tracked by Israel's largest health management organization. The figures suggest breakthrough infections may be more common than the term implies, the report suggests.

98%?  Where about?  33% in England according to this

How many double-jabbed people are dying from COVID? (yahoo.com)

Why are UK Covid cases 30 times higher and Covid deaths 10 times higher this August than August last year if the vaccine is slowing the spread?

I'm 98% certain. Which is pretty certain.

Sturgis, a large, unvaccinated gathering in South Dakota, and a reasonable example of what happens when the unvaccinated get together, just saw a 450% rise in cases in the couple of weeks following the event.

Once again, given the clear disparity in serious illness and death between vaccinated and unvaccinated, I'm not understanding why there's a problem with keeping the unvaccinated from gathering.

Israel one of the most vaccinated countries in the world is experiencing a surge in cases.  We can all pull out isolated examples to suit an argument.

Where's the "98%" & "clear disparity" coming from?

It's not "stopping the unvaccinated from gathering" though. It's stopping unvaccinated people from going to football games, gigs, festivals etc when there is no evidence that this will "slow the spread"

There is no hard evidence the vaccines slow transmission.

How do you go to football games, gigs, festivals etc. with a large number of other people without 'gathering'?

It is.

Fuck knows. So much misinformation etc I'm just done with it now. Booked to go see a guy called Joesef and John Cooper Clark too, next month. Can't go now and I'm gutted.

I caught it, got over it, and I'm halfway vaccinated. How don't I have the required antibodies to attend venues? Really, really don't get it.

It's something to do with South Dakota apparently

But the vast majority of them will be vaccinated.

If a group of anti vaxxers want to have a gathering in a public park this legislation won't stop them. All it does is stop people like Consi going to Pittodrie.

Outside transmission, we've been told all along, is virtually impossible.

There's more risk going to the pub before the football, rather than the actual football. However, under these protocols I could stand in the boozer with my mates before a dons game, do everything short of suck their cock, but I could go and stand at the back of the red shed.

Makes sense.

McDairmid could be a sell out, no passports, Pittodrie half empty, passports.

It's beyond stupid.

Yeah, it's not, though.

It's not a 'vast majority', though, is it?

Younger people are less likely to have the vaccine than the elderly, meaning the 'vast majority' pertains to people who aren't going to gigs, festivals, and football matches.

To reiterate.

Sturgis in South Dakota, a biker rally where the 'vast majority' are unvaccinated

Two weeks later instances of infection spiked by 450%.

Are you having a hard time following my replies?
