Hmm is Glass just a yes man, who has been employed because he'll do what he's told and won't push back on having to build a team on the cheap.

In a word Ernie, yes!

The sooner the happy clappers realize this the better.

Don't get me wrong DM had gone stale and had to go but the opportunity to upgrade has been missed.

As mentioned on many occasions I hope to be proved wrong, but seriously doubt it ?.

Any AFC rumours coming from the sun of all places should be taken with a large pinch of salt, if not completely ignored.

Agree that we should be looking at Cole from Motherwell as a target.

He’s be a better back up striker than JET would be.

We need a clear no1 striker. Someone you’ll get 30+ league games out of and at least 15 goals.

If we are to spend a fee this summer then I’d like it spent on a good no9.
Just not one from Russ Richardson’s laptop.

This Hibs side is shit compared to the Motherwell/Killie sides that finished above us. They weren’t that great either but this Hibs side is the worst of the three. Just highlights our steadily increased regression under McInnes when the league started steadily getting remotely more competitive. But only competitive as in far more sides able to take points of each other tit for tat.

Agree. On none of the last 3 seasons it has not been that the other teams have been too strong. We've just had far too many needless shite results

Do you think Cole would leave Motherwell where he is a clear first choice to come here as a designated back up?  I have my doubts. Yeah money talks but I'd think he'd have ambitions greater than that for his next move.

I think we need to get away from this 1st choice, 2nd choice striker stuff and sign a group of 3 forwards who are able to  compete for first team places and have the all round ability to actually play in the same team at times.

Hibs manage to play Doidge and Nisbet in the same team.  I'm sure neither of them are labelled as first or second choice.

I would have liked to have seen us to make a move for Devante Cole. Just turned 26, over 6ft tall and would be on a free. He's played 30 games this season scoring 12 and assisting 7.

Probably a cheaper option, younger, faster and is involved in more goals then JET. Signing Cole would make more sense.

But has Cole played well against Aberdeen in previous seasons or this season. That seems to be one of the three main factors taken into account by Richardson.

1. Played well against Aberdeen

2. Previously turned Aberdeen down and since then had a major injury or multiple minor injuries

3. Previously played for Aberdeen

I’d be right in there. Miles better than Kamberi. Would link up well with Hedges and whoever the fuck the main striker is.

Previously played for Aberdeen

Had to cut short loan due to injury

Gets 2 marks out of 3 on the Richardson scouting chart. Definite purchase.

On a serious note, I agree would rather have Watkins than Kamberi the glove wearing, useless fuck

Been plenty talk about the players all being ‘assessed’ to see if they are good enough/right for the club but what about the likes of Richardson? His role is pretty damn important but his record is pretty damn poor in all honesty.

His whole mentality under McInnes was to source ‘multitaskers’ for numerous positions, rather than ‘specialists’ for specific positions. Journeyman specialist. Jacks of all trades but masters of none.

Take Kennedy for example. I never got why people thought he'd be a good signing.

Hed scored a few of goals, but all in all he'd only managed 5 assists in 60 games for St Johnstone.

That's a rate of 1 assist every 12 games. It should therefore be no surprise that he's done fuck all here. Seriously, what the fuck were AFC thinking?!!!

Yeah, St Johnstone must have been delighted to get cash for him. Lucky if he’d make their bench. That’s how shit he is

So have the marquee signings of auld Broon & Gallagher been enough to keep some happy/excited? So they can now work down the list for likes of Robertson, JET etc. to assess fans reaction to them?

Perspective needed though.

Yeah we've announced Brown and Gallagher as our first two signings. Everything else is folk getting worked up about media rumours.

I recall two recent seasons when McInnes' first summer signings were

Gleeson and Forrester

Main and Taylor

Everyone will have their opinion on Gallagher and Brown (too slow, too old, wrong foot, etc) but imo those two signings are a better first two in the door than the ones listed above.

People are too emotional just now.
