DD1903
so from that I'd guess are we gonna sign someone on Wednesday or maybe the strip will be released? Ferguson and Devlin not in running for captain? Ethan Ross comment is interesting. maybe not jump ahead of McLennan. but sounds like ahead of wright or F ross Joe Lewis probably got a release clause by sounds of itFerguson is only 19 and still learning. Someone like joe Lewis should get the captain role Link to comment
StandFree1982
Better to have an outfield player as captain where they have more influence. Link to comment
boboisared
Better to have an outfield player as captain where they have more influence. Better to have a team full of captain types and one who wears an armband and can organise the nights outs and fines. 4 Link to comment
boboisared
Joe Lewis off next summer.Wouldn't make much sense. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Surely sounds like to get him to sign on now rather than dragging it out for 6-12 months there has had to be a release clause of some sortsInteresting that he’d ask for one of these to be inserted... that being the case, he maybe still feels he’s got one big move left in him. Norwich are apparently looking for another goalkeeper! The papers were saying recently they were looking at bringing Angus Gunn back! Link to comment

Guest
Wouldn't make much sense. How so? It appears he has a release clause, this would've been the last year of his deal. I personally think he'll give it another year with us and if a team in the south of England comes in, he's gone. Link to comment
BWG
Reckon Lewis will end his career with us... probably after some dirty hun cunt stabs him next season, only for a penalty to be given in their favour. 3 Link to comment
BWG
Well GMS being back for Hibs might be good, since Hibs are the only team he ever fucking bothers his arse against. He really will not be a loss. Virgins -1'ing that. Awa and fuck. 1 4 Link to comment

Ten Caat
Assuming therefore as it stands McKenna is staying put. Terrific. He's hardly done much this season to warrant clubs queueing up to sign him.....certainly won't have the £6.5million Stoke bid bettered. I have a feeling the Dhims might be back offering maybe £4million plus Jack Hendry..... Link to comment

The season he would have been out of contract after the conclusion of? Far more likely it's a transfer release clause. Link to comment

We turn to shit next season and finish 10th, he's not sticking around for more years of that. Link to comment

TheRock
Not sure specifically what the Ethan Ross comment was but wouldn't too much stock in it. He's said previous a few times how Scott Wright will play a bigger role next season, the rest of the season and so on. He isn't picking teams for September and October now. He does look a prospect though, hope it gets a decent chance. Link to comment

Betty Swallicks
Other tit bits from last night: There will be loans again - there is a budget to stick to and some loans allow that to go a bit further Club will be making a huge PR exercise across news, social media etc on Wednesday Shinnie and GMS fit for Hibs GMS likely to go to MLS Ethan Ross to be a first team starter next season Captain could be Logan, Lewis, McKenna or a couple of the new players also 7-8 players to be signed this summer 2-3 players to be signed in the next two weeks Lots of other teams were interested in Joe Lewis so the deal has had to be structured in a way that was acceptable to all parties So our starting 11 will be of a standard comparable to that of a 17 year old who has played 5 games in a season when we regressed? Yas! 1 Link to comment

King Street Loon
Heard that Lewis got the contract money Shinnie was offered.Make's sense I suppose, as he is now our most important player and a nice wedge in Josephs pocket. Link to comment
Guest
GMS was our best player in the first half of the season. Nearly got his head taken off in the LCF and has understandably struggled since. Link to comment

Nearly got his head taken off in the LCF and has understandably struggled since.Matter of opinion. Even in the first half of the season, he drifted in and out of games and often looked disinterested. Occasional flashes of ability and wee tricks do not make him "our best player" in the first half of the season, imo Link to comment
Andy_123
GMS was definitely our best player in the first half of this season. The only player who ever looked capable of making anything happen. Been a waste of time since his head was panned in though. We should certainly be able to source a better/more consistent player than him for the same kind of money. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Not sure why Lewis would sign a five year deal with a year left on his existing one if he wanted to leave to go back to England? What would be the point of a 5 year deal if the object was just to insert a minimum release clause? Could have just done that with a one year extension or by renegotiating the existing deal Link to comment
G31DON
Because if he breaks his lovely long neck tomorrow he gets 5 years wages, not 1. Link to comment
