Nothing to do with NS though, is it? Council led decision. Although, interestingly, in the SNP/Liberal manifesto issued yesterday, they spoke about pedestrianising Union St, some Queens Gardens refurb and some other shit; no mention of the wider beach project, despite Data Dave saying all parties were in favour of it

Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack is hopeful that the Scottish Premiership club will be in a new beachfront stadium and training ground as part of a council-backed plan "in five, six years from now". (The Scotsman)

Surely we're not looking to build a new training ground already?
