how can it be a league if the same company runs the top 4 clubs?

Because Allah wills it.

Also, the public investment fund will be compartmented into different areas so if you wind your mind back, it would be like a team from BT playing in a league with British Gas and British Rail. All publicly funded back in the day (via rate payers), but I think we can see how they are separate.

But surely there is still one overlord who will decide his favourite that year. Either messi’s, benzema or ronaldo’s team allowed to win it

*Allah.

Manchester city got their stadium for free after the commonwealth games.

Their local council is Labor controlled but the commonwealth games is a Tory thing in essence if ever their was.

Should we assume that David Cameron parked the budget for the NHS on paddypower (or similar) for City to win the league?

Mental the sums these players are getting paid. Benzema looking like over 400k a day. No wonder hes sold out.

Totally and utterly obscene amount of cash but would any one of us turn it down if offered?

However cannot see Saudi football going anywhere in the medium to long term. Cannot be sustainable on that level of cash being spent.

It's sustainable coz they'll just bump the price of oil to pay for it. It'll never be of much interest though. No amount of superstar names will make many folk want to see Allah FC v Mohammed FC.

They are now reaping what they sowed back in 1992 with the start of the big money era. Hard to have any sympathy tbh.

All part of a wider plan to introduce a global super champions League.

Certainly going to lead to the resurfacing of European Super League chat. The big clubs seeing their players decamp to Saudi will get them thinking how do they combat it. Need to generate more dough and ESL is about the only avenue left open.

Imagine what a super league would do to the lesser English leagues once the big dogs have left.
