The Gee Man
“Four of the leading Saudi Arabian clubs have been taken over by the country's Public Investment Fund.” how can it be a league if the same company runs the top 4 clubs? Link to comment

Because Allah wills it. Also, the public investment fund will be compartmented into different areas so if you wind your mind back, it would be like a team from BT playing in a league with British Gas and British Rail. All publicly funded back in the day (via rate payers), but I think we can see how they are separate. 1 Link to comment

Their local council is Labor controlled but the commonwealth games is a Tory thing in essence if ever their was. Should we assume that David Cameron parked the budget for the NHS on paddypower (or similar) for City to win the league? Link to comment
slippers
Mental the sums these players are getting paid. Benzema looking like over 400k a day. No wonder hes sold out. Link to comment

Cannot be sustainable on that level of cash being spent. Link to comment

It's sustainable coz they'll just bump the price of oil to pay for it. It'll never be of much interest though. No amount of superstar names will make many folk want to see Allah FC v Mohammed FC. The Gee Man
The EPL certainly set us fans on the disconnect with football. Footballers nowadays are miles away from normal fans. But this Saudi rubbish will finish football, soon they will move on to the youth set ups and there will be no more bargain buys at our level Link to comment
