Just stop oil

Recommended Posts

Does anyone on here support these left wing lentil eating rich nutters??

Do they actually realise what stopping oil would entail?

No more windfarms, no heating in homes, no shops/supermarkets. No way of getting people to work, collapsed economy, no way to fund the health service.

Mass famine, millions of deaths.

Is that really worth it for a fake climate thing, the mind truly boggles how these people think.

What about baby oil? Me and the wife go through a bottle of that every 6 months, if you get my drift.

Kinky.

Cannot disagree with the premise that as a planet we need to stop being so dependent on Oil and Gas as we currently are.

However there needs to be a thought out approach as to how this actually happens.

Turning off the taps in the UK only to rely on importing Oil and Gas from foreign sources at 3 or 4 times the carbon footprint is an absolutely bonkers approach.

I’m sure everyone has bigger things to worry about than whether the planet is habitable in 100 years or not. I just find their brand of disruption and antagonism amusing more than anything, not to mention the reactions of those with vested interests and subscriptions to Mail Online.

Edit: as per Piddler 😎

I’d support the government saying if they start any shit that is interrupting your life like lying in the middle of the road you are welcome to haul them off or kick fuck out of them.

Or both.

That's all fine and well until it's a cause you empathise with.

Are they annoying? Yeah. Are they being annoying on purpose? Yes to that as well.

Do they have a right to peaceful protest without some cunt assaulting them? Yes.

I agree, there's a disconnect with their class and the peoples whose lives they are disrupting, which is very hard to reconcile.

But, at the same time, some effective protest movements throughout history have been deemed unfavourably by the general public.

The Suffragettes were disliked and not well supported in their time. MLK, when assassinated by the CIA, had fairly poor approval ratings with the American public, it's only posthumously that he's been canonised as some great liberal beacon of hope for societal change.

I think these people need to be doing more to get the Everyman on their side. But, I don't think class analysis is at the core of what they do or what they are trying to achieve. They seem to think social movements will work and be effective if you throw enough orange paint on shit, without much thought for how to mobilise the masses to make it a popular campaign.

Stopping cunts getting to their work isn't going to do anything but entrench the suspicion and dislike towards them.

Fuck knows what else they can do though. Protest powers are limited in England now, which again, is fine if it's a cause you disagree with, but further down the line I suspect people will be saying something different.

This is it. How the world works.

They should be protesting under an umbrella of worker liberation and the right for states to self determine their economic policies without influence from the West. It's all inescapably linked.

At the moment they are just coming across as a bunch of middle class students trying to antagonise people into their way of thinking. It'll never happen that way.

"Now let's talk to Tiger Lilly and her fellow protester Tarquin, who both went to top private schools and whose dad's are on the board of BP, regarding their stop oil protests".
