Hi all, Derby fan here.

I know Jason Beardsley from his time with us. He was in my class at school, and I watched him in his games for Derby, and have followed him, as I know him personally. My honest opinion of him is that he is a RIGHT back, good going forward with a good pass and good aerial ability, but is questionable at defending. The big mistake for Beardo was that Billy Davies told him that he would sign him for Forest, when he was Captain of Derby's reserves team, Jason then fell out with Cloughie and told him his training was no good - so they cancelled his contract. He had been out on loan at League 2 Notts County and did OK in his 13 games there. He had various trials before joining an American side, stayed there 2 weeks and said it was no good - poor facilities etc. He then came back last summer, more trials, one at Oldham with Dickov, before signing a year deal at Macclesfield.

 

The reason CB spoke to Oldhams Paul Dickov about signing a player, perhaps.
